15-16 Season?

Hey all!
Is there a way for me to jump into a season mode and have it start from where it's up to today? As in I'd like to start a season mode and it begins before game 1 of the finals and all draft picks have been assigned? I'm a huge Lakers fan and I want to try a season with me having the 2nd overall pick etc. I remember this being possible in 2k14. Does anyone know if it's possible in this game?
