2015 Playoffs: (1) Golden State vs. (2) Houston

Postby Lamrock on Mon May 18, 2015 7:44 am

The top two seeds make the playoffs in both conferences. After the Clippers franchise as a whole implodes, an inferior Rockets team earns the right to get obliterated by Golden State. Barring injuries, this shouldn't be close. GS in 5.

Harden and co. can still steal a couple games, but Golden State is just too good.

Problem is Curry. How will Prigioni/Harden/Jet stay with him? It's an impossible task. Then there's also Klay to worry about. Lolollol. Patrick Beverley will be badly missed.

This is a series between two of the fastest paced teams in the league. They will both shoot the ball on first glance at the rim. The Rockets might as well give up playing defense and run.

But Harden's equivalent to Curry in terms of talent level. And Dwight's capable of elevating his game to a beast level. They are just hard to contain for anyone. This is a two headed monster with solid depth. I think they'll be able to compete and steal 2 games.

Warriors in 6 in high scoring bouts.

I can't pick against the Warriors, but I will follow Phil Jackson's sage advice:

phpBB [video]

I think they're good enough to take a couple of games, but there'll be no comeback like the one they managed against the Clippers. Warriors to the Finals.

Well I was hoping for a Warriors/Clippers matchup, those teams always get fired up when playing each other so I was hoping to see some good old fashioned rough playoff games but it's not to be.

I'd say the Warriors advance in 6 games.

One thing I like is Josh Smith vs. Draymond Green. The original, flawed model vs. the new, probably superior version.

Houston's X Factor is Smith/Jones. Those two wearing down Draymond is ESSENTIAL to the Rockets even being able to win one game.

I have much more respect for golden state and Atlanta who weren't gifted good players like brewer, Smith, shumpert, jr Smith, mozgov. If only the clippers got lucky, they would be playing right now

Can't really hold it against teams when they take advantage of an opportunity. It's also worth noting that the acquisitions of Josh Smith and J.R. Smith carried their own element of risk, given their histories and shortcomings.

Same here.

Good gosh, I absolutely have zero respect for the Lakers franchise in that regard. I mean, don't you?

Well in more ways then I'd like to admit, I don't have a huge amount of respect. I think most of the Lakers' signings have come from the allure of the city and Kobe Bryant. A whole franchise leaning on one aging superstar and in a dying state isn't exactly going to be a huge lure anymor.e

LOL!

Awesome game by Curry and co, Dwight injured his knee so hopefully he'll be back in the next game. No excuses wanted while the Warriors surgically take care of them.

What a game.

So Josh Smith ended up team killing Dwight. This series could turn out to be a quickie if Dwight's any less than 100%.

Street fights taught him how to disable an opponent quickly. Nice move, no one suspected a thing.

Now he can go for 30/15/10/5 and win the series.

There's a difference between being traded quality bench players for nothing in a salary dump and signing marquee free agents
