Noticed that the Playoffs logo on the courts are missing. The logo somewhat gives out the atmosphere that the Playoffs are here, and now it's lost.

Unless you just woke up from hibernation, you should know that it's playoffs time when mid-April comes just like the Final Four in March... everything from the crowd, the technical fouls, the network's scoreboard and analysts indicate that it is anyway...

I agree with stress fracture. It feels empty without that logo. I would actually get a wonderful feeling as a fan seeing that logo on my court, even if my team would exit in the first round. I see it as a prize. No logos today either. I saw a preview on cleveland's fb page how they prepare the arena for the game and no logo was on the court. I hope the logo will be brought back in the following games starting tomorrow, or at least in the next round.

Never saw a player accidentally slipped or fell while stepping on the logo. They're made of adhesive, right? I think nothing's wrong with it.

I'm sure they will go over a new design that will improve the surface, if not use some alternate pieces of the hardwood that could be pre painted to have the playoffs logo on them, keeping the surface the same.

Considering the NBA has no other reason to remove them and it's only happening for the first time this year, I think it's an explanation that can be accepted at face value.

Does anyone know how are draft picks determined for the following years ? I've always thought the draft lottery is for that specific year, yet teams trade picks from 2017 or 2018. I couldn't find the answer on the internet and I am a little confused.

Still the same, the records of those teams in that season determine its place.

This is right. The actual draft order isn't determined till that previous season is done, which is also why there are "protected" draft picks, allowing a team that traded away the pick to keep the pick if it is within the limits they defined in the trade.
