Serge Ibaka could be done for the season

Thunder forward Serge Ibaka out 4-6 weeks after knee surgery

hunder forward Serge Ibaka could miss the rest of the season after having an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee Tuesday.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti said Ibaka will be out four to six weeks. The playoffs begin April 18.

Presti said the procedure shaved off damaged cartilage from under Ibaka's kneecap that had caused discomfort and swelling. Ibaka started having issues in late February, but he played until missing the past three games. He had averaged 17.1 points and 9.4 rebounds since the All-Star break and was shooting 55 percent.

That may just give the Pelicans the edge in nabbing that eighth spot.

Uh oh. Every year when the Thunder is supposed to seriously contend, injury happens.

But it looks like Enes is a nice fit for the team and McGary's another nicely drafted rookie. Kinda amazed how they draft so well. That said, it's still very unfortunate how things are going this season. Both KD and Ibaka have been known for durability but...

OKC is now screwed. Unless Durant comes healthy and start making those 40 points per night happen, they are not getting that last spot.

With the injury to a key player again like before (Ibaka, Westbrook), Scott Brooks job is safe again even if the Thunder get eliminated in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Kanter sprains his ankle, not serious but might sit out a few games. What a series of bad luck.

BTW, which team do you guys want to see making the playoffs? Right now, Thunder, Pelicans, and Suns are fighting for the last spot. Even though none of them will beat GSW in the first round, I'm kinda hoping to see the Pelicans' Antonio Davis in the big stage. Mostly because I don't believe in unhealthy Thunder.

The Suns are lagging behind a little and the Thunder are in a tough spot with injuries to key players, so I'd agree that the Pelicans will likely edge them both out for the eighth spot. I also agree that it'd be the more interesting match-up with The Brow having an MVP-type season.

Darn... tonight's crucial match up between PHX and NOP, Anthony Davis sat out because of ankle injury, hence the loss. What a bummer.

Yeah, Andrew. I think NOP is interesting because...

C: Asik
PF: Unibrow
SF: Tyreke
SG: Eric Gordon
PG: Jrue Holiday
6th man: Ryan Anderson
Able Bodies: NoCole, Ajinca

NoCole is a very nice defender and starting five individually are capable defenders(I know, their team DRtg sucks), I think there's a good room to make some noise in the playoffs if they can buy few lucky buckets a game. Maybe give GSW run for the money.

I'm actually rooting for OKC getting that 8th spot. Wishing Kanter, McGary, and Adams step up big time.

When Thibs hit the market, I think he's on the hot seat

I'm rooting for the Suns or the thunder to make it. The Suns versatile roster can match up with the dubs and is like to see the ninja turtle go for the upset
