1995/1996 Season Roster Patch Released!

Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

Repole wrote:you should make an install that at least gives you the ability to switch between the 95/96 mod and the current NBA. you could do this by renaming the team abreviations and using eazip to extract any files needed for each team like logos, stadium, jerseys already in the game and such and have the batch rename them and reimport with eazip. or simply having a batch backup the original .vivs and import and overwrite with all the 95/96 files and just include a small switch .bat to switch between the 95/96 .vivs and the 2004 .vivs.....

That's a good idea...the latter would probably be easiest. Thanks Repole. (Y)

Chipper: I'll send you those .vivs ASAP, most likely tomorrow.

Looking forward to the Version 1.1, with customart enabled Live 04 runs so slow for some reason. hopefully 1.1 will have the .viv files.

Andrew, have you sent me the files? Because I haven't got anything in my mail box.

Not to rush you, but just let me know when you send it. Just so that I won't keep waiting if it doesn't get delivered for whatever reason

Yea, like I said, it's cool. Take your time.

I was just worried that the mail gets lost somewhere and we can both end up waiting for each other. Didn't mean that I was getting tired of waiting.

What a great patch

Postby trsba on Mon Aug 16, 2004 10:26 pm

Yep... Andrew, I got it working.. I reinstalled the game and had no problems..
Played with the Sonics V Dallas.. Brilliant... But some tips... 96 Sonics team has Nate McMillan on it but he wasn't in your patch.. Was a great backup for both Sonics guards in that season.. Detlef also has better ball skills than Shawn Kemp should be able to pro hop... Its excellent though... Thoroughly impresses.. The best patch I have seen on NLSC

Thanks for the comments, glad to hear that you got it working. Nate McMillan is in the patch though - he's just on the injured roster. He missed quite a few games through injury and began the season on the IR. But he's in there. ;) Thanks for the other suggestions, all noted. (Y)

Chipper - I've just sent the .viv files. (Y)

I just got them!
I will test them as much as I can (which isn't that much) and send you the zip file of all the players in .viv format

I have completed converting the viv files as well as the initial testing.

I couldn't find Terry Dehere's headshape so I just found one that's closest and I think he looks ok. (actually pretty good)

The zip file of all the viv files (max compression rate) is little over 60 MBs if I remember correctly. I am still wondering how I should send this

I'm sorry, but that's way too big to distribute.

Oops, I didn't put the numbers right. It's total of 16 MB. When compressed, the zip file is just over 6 MB...

Still too big?

6 MB should be fine. 60 would have been just a tad too much. ;)

Anyway, I will just email you the files then. I wanna test all the players first and sim thru some seasons as well, so you waill have to wait until tomorrow

Thanks chipper, I've just received them and will download them from my webmail shortly. (Y)

Robby: Fairly soon. At the moment I'm giving more attention to the current roster update as I'm hoping to have a new version out this weekend, after that I'll try to finish up the update for the 95/96 patch.

Cool. My webmail gave me an error page when i sent the mail so i didn't even know it was sent.

Anyway, I could help you converting custom art patches to viv files in the future as well. Please keep up the good work, and I look forward to the rookie packages to be released sometime soon (not very soon)

Yeah, they were sent twice but the first email was fine - I've downloaded them and will work on the update for the 95/96 patch next week. This weekend I'm concentrating on a new version of the current roster update.

I hope 95-96 patch ( custeam team mod. )
Because many users have gamed custom art 1 mod.
so, we abandom between 95-96 mod & regular nba mod courts & etc...
if you make custom mod, everybody will use both 95-96 mod & regular nba mod by roster roading.
SLAMDUNK patch making center.

That's what I'm hoping to achieve in v1.1 - the ability to easily switch between the 95/96 mod and the current rosters.

Hey I'd like to do some cyberfaces but I don't have the original template from older versions. Is it possible for somebody to upload some of the cyberfaces from older versions, like spud webb and ron harper in particular. :D I'd like to try patching them.

P.S. How come Spud can't dunk?? He didn't dunk in that season or something?
