In a tight playoff game, when the play breaks down and the shot clock is ticking down, it'll be interesting to see who'll be "that guy" for the Hawks. Who'll play the Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Westbrook, Pierce role?

He's not a player in that mould or class, but I imagine they'll trust in Korver's shooting.

Teague has played it in the past.

The nice thing about the Hawks is that Teague can start something but he doesn't need to finish it. Teams are paranoid about Korver and getting increasingly so about Carroll and Milsap at the three. (And they've got Scott on the bench who can sub in for Horford and put four above-average three point shooters with Teague. Just run a pick and roll with any two guys except probably Scott/Caroll and watch even the Spurs probably go into panic mode.)

The Suns ran this type of thing when Amare was injured and even when he was alive, a rolling big can make it worse or easier depending on how the D expects the play to come out. And the Spurs have run similar plays for a long time because Duncan is a great passer. Parker isn't *that* much better than Teague in shot creation.

To benji's point when I play with the hawks online in nba live I can basically get the ball with anybody anywhere in the frontcourt and am able to just shoot it from there. well, except millsap for 3 because they rated him kinda low from 3

Millsap is probably getting a boost sooner or later. The whole team will

I know this is quite old but i totally disagree with this sentence. Cmon guys, that why basketball is a 5 player team sport. I know europeans and americans have different points of view about basketball but i totally hate how games are ended in the nba. A single player holding the ball for the hole posession and then going isolations and pulling up infront of a defender? Thats not team basketball, and maybe this is why the Hawks are working out that well. No stars, no egocentric players, nobody forcing things, the perfect combination of penetratos and shooters, etc etc etc. And when the time comes instead of isolation their star they'll run a play and probably find lots of betters options than a contested pull up shot, though it won't be spectacular it will be efficient. And that's how basketball should be played, and SAS already has showed that to us. :D

Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

It is a team sport, but having a capable clutch performer who has the confidence and ability to make things happen in crunch time is an ace up the sleeve, when all else fails. In a seven game series, teams figure each other out, plays get broken, and halfcourt execution becomes more difficult. That's where a player who can isolate and take control of a game can tip the balance, or open up opportunities for his teammates when the defense commits to him.

Indeed.

Furthermore, there isn't always time to run a play or have the ball touch every player on the court. When there are only a few seconds left to make something happen and get off a shot to tie or win the game, that's when clutch performers shine and prove their worth.

Exactly. Imagine the Celtics/Lakers battles if Kobe Bryant/Paul Pierce decided to pass instead of take the last shot. History would be awfully different.

This is what actually makes them more dangerous in the clutch because you don't know who's going to beat you on the final play. You can throw it to Teague to create or they run a play through Teague horford or millsap and they find the open guy. All five starters are threats wherever they catch the ball
