I posted the "stratus" gemfx mod to the download section... it's not there yet so I assume the admins need time to review and approve. keep an eye out for it and let me know what you think. I will post a link in the op to it when it's posted. Since "stratus" uses gemfx, i thought it would be best not to include it on the sweetfx download page, but still use this thread for discussion. leaving for NY in the am for a few days but will check in to see if anyone is having issues.

No, admins don't approve downloads. If it's not there, it probably isn't going to be. Best to just re-upload it.

When I install the stratus mod it keeps giving me errors. MSVCP120.dll is missing and failure to load the dxgi.dll

There is a post not too far back about how to fix Msvcp120 error. I can't remember who posted it but take a look and you should be able to find it. I'm on mobile otherwise would find it and link to it for you.

I had the same MSVCP120.dll error, but Microsoft Visual C++2013 Redistributable install fixed it.

goldenstate77, is there a way to switch gemFX ON/OFF during game, like you can with sweetFX (Scroll Lock button for ON/OFF)? I wanted to post some comparison screens. I played just one game with "stratus" (gemFX) applied and it looked/played really nice and smooth, although I couldn't really tell how is it better over V4, except for the fog effect. What else is better/improved in comparison to V4 that I should pay attention to? I am just new to GemFX..

f10 toggles gemfx on/off. gemfx adds ambient light, god rays and lens flare. You can only see these effects (for the most part) during cut scenes and replay. it's a subtle effect but if you replay and toggle on/off you will see... also, you can play around with the config.exe and turn up the effect so that the changes are more pronounced. when i have a few minutes i'll post a stronger effect version, too.

goldenstate77, could you please set up a preset0.ini to a really weak gpu as mine?
This is my situation: i loved the colors of your sweetfx v2/win8.1, but it cost me around 5-10 fps... play nba2k bellow 60 fps sucks.
Without your sweetfx, some players (mostly skintone=1 like Ginobili or Love) looks like a Fallout 3 character, kind of grey or greenish or dead
I tried to tweak your preset0.ini, guess what? i fail
So my man, i was wandering if you could make one with nothing fancy, no fxaa, ssaa, special effects... just those beautiful color pallete of your sweetfx, causing no fps drop to really low spec guys like me.
Thanks in advance and please forgive my bad english.

hey man... glad you like v2 but sorry to hear it's crushing your gpu. some of the color of v2 comes from the hdr setting, which is one of the more resource consuming shaders. unfortunately i'm traveling the next two weeks so I won't have access to my home computer, but in the meantime, try this (and sorry if I mess this up, it's from memory)

1) download v3 and extract the sweetfx_settings.txt.
2) open it
3) under "choose effects" (top of page), change SMAA from 1 to 0
4) find the tonemap shader settings (toward bottom of page), and change the saturation amount to 0.1
5) find vibrance settings, and up it a little, to maybe 12ish.

try playing around with the vibrance and tonemap saturation settings to get a desired look. Let me know how it looks, and what additional changes you want (more color, less blue, more brightness..etc) and I'll talk you through it.

The win 8.1 sweetfx-efx packs won't work (i don't think, since it was designed for 64 bit games) but the win 7 sweetfx packs should (both are included in the download, for each version).

Having said that, I don't know if it will look good or not, since it was designed specifically for 2K15.

There are lots of good sweetfx settings for nba 2k14 though (on this board and others)... you might find that they will look better, although you are free to try :D

I'm not sure...i'm not familiar with swiftshader but it looks like it only works with dx9 games at present.

wow thank you very much for your kind effort to try to make everybody happy :)

I am playing on 17inch laptop sager np6370 gtx660m

Actually my settings is really acceptable now. I am playing on res 1024x768, all high except crowd low

COLOR_CORRECTION=1, DEPTH_OF_FIELD=0, SSAO=0, BLOOM=0 and VOLUMETRIC_EFFECTS=0, reflection=1, msaa, supersample off

I also set msaa to 0 from your version 3 sweetfx settings. It actually gives extra 5-7 fps now than before with the same great real life like color. I compared it to sweetfx=off and there is no fps hit now

I get 49-60 fps during gameplay.. some court gives me 52-54 at half court, all give 60 while dribbling in the middle court. which is really great considering I am playing it on a laptop on mid level graphic card.

I can get by with the small resolution, there are black bars on top and bottom, however, since its a small screen, its actually looks really great and optimal for my viewing distance

However, I would like to improve it more without losing graphic quality.

Cool, glad it worked ok. For v3, I tried to replicate the look of v2 but without HDR, and a little less color. So those changes I suggest should get fairly close. Hopefully this modified version is less taxing on your system.
