Visual glitch?

Tue Nov 04, 2014 8:35 am

Does someone know what is causing the shoes in my game to look like this? Im assuming this isnt the way they normally appear. I wanna fix this. Games itself seem to run fine, and my system isnt amazing but it meets all the requirements to run 2k14

Its hard to show in a still image, but its like the outlines or logos of the shoes glisten and sparkle. no matter what the shoe.

It's difficult to say without some info... can you answer the following questions:

1. What system do you have?
2. Do you use a global by some of the modders here?
3. Do you use sweet fx/enb?
4. Do you experience this sort of glitches in other games as well or only in NBA2k14?

Processor AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
Video Card AMD Radeon HD 8570D
Memory 7.4 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit

This shows up in whatever global is used in UBR

Whatever settings are in UBR

Ive never really had this happen in other NBA 2K games, just this year

Your system seems up to date. If I had to guess it'd be one of 2 things that might cause this:

1. Some settings in UBR. I don't have UBR myself but shoes are usually connected with rosters. As far as arms are concerned and black spots this should be caused by a global. Check your UBR download zip file and see if there is a global.iff file in there.

2. Your graphics card might be in trouble... either getting too hot or there is too much dust collected inside. That's why I asked you if these problems were present also on other games. Did you get these glitches before you installed UBR?

If I were you I'd do the following:

1. If you have kept a backup of your files prior to UBR, I'd remove UBR and copy the vanilla files once again. If the problem is gone this means that it was some files in UBR that caused this.

2. If 1 doesn't solve your problem I'd try some other games and see if there were any glitches. If there are glitches in other games too then it should be your GPU.

I hope you find the solution.

Thanks you really know your stuff

Dude. Not to be "that guy," but he's off on the black dots on the arms issue. Black dots occur when the textures are improperly remade into a CF file. Let's say someone updated Rudy Gay's tattoos. They'd have to save it as a PNG to be able to open it. Then they'd have to put it back in, right? Well most people forget they have to re-insert it twice, because the file has to be a DDS file in order for the game to read it as the texture. And yes UBR has plenty of issues like that.

Nope. if you can find all the players that are having black spots I can PM you some CFs that won't have any.
