DOS style graphics

Wed Nov 05, 2014 3:13 pm

First off,I have a low end system. As in core i3,3.10 GHz, Geforce 210 with 8 GB RAM And I do not expect 1080p graphics on it,but still, shouldn't the game look at least similar to NBA 2K14? I always played there with low settings, and it was playable with decent graphics.
This year, however,it has become more like huge blocks of marble moving around the game instead of actual basketball players!
I got it to be around 30 FPS at 1280x720, with all graphics options turned down to low in 2k14..and I'm having Anderson Varejao look like a Michaelangelo sculpture at 1024x768, coz 1280x720 lags too much. Even 800x600 lags too much with DOS like graphics.
Anything I could do to make it at least playable like 2k14? Two iterations shouldn't make SO much difference.
(PS :- I know UPGRADE will be shouted at me, but
1) I'm trying, and
2) my system perfectly qualifies for at least mid range graphics)
Please help!

That GFX card is too much on the low end of performance to to get anything out of this game. I mean it has a 64-bit memory width and it's gddr2 ram, the slowest of slows by today's standard. Your cpu should be ok and your fine with that amount of ram.

This years game seems to utilize gfx cards quite well, unlike the last gen versions.

So,the only way to get anything out of the game is to buy a higher powerer card, yes?
And no amount of tweaking will do?

And you will need 2 GB Video RAM to max it out. With 1 GB VRAM you will be stuck with only the game playable with Medium Textures.
I can run the game with everything on Medium with my Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OC 1GB VRAM and I have only 4 GB RAM and Quad Core Q8400 3.0 GHz OC. The game with everything on Medium with Special Effects On is still much better than NBA 2K14 PC maxed out. :)

Geforce 210 is a graphics card cheaper than the NBA 2K15 PC game itself. You will need to upgrade to a graphics card that won't bottleneck your Core i3 but at the same time making sure it has at least 2 GB VRAM.. That would be the best choice, unless you're planning to build a new PC altogether. If that's the case then you can go for a more economical option, something like AMD FX 8320 with GTX 970. :)
