NBA JAM 2K15 -- Data Collection

Okay, so I've started tweaking the 2K15 roster in-game, to reflect a more Arcade Style, fast paced game. It takes a murderously long time to edit things in-game, but I've done some work to both the Cavs and the Knicks, editing most of their 'Starting 5s', but not really getting into much else. I only want each team to ultimately have 6 or 7 players, which leads to my question(s). Since we're going for pure fun and arcade here, I want to know who would be a team's 'Most Fun 5' -- meaning, for a team like the Cavs, does that mean putting Mike Miller as their SG to launch 3's en lieu of Waiters? Who is the better Arcade Center, Thompson or Varajeo? So on and so forth. For the Knicks, I dumped Dalembert, slid Amare to C, Melo to PF, and put Shumpert to the SF spot, for example. I'm not married to any decision I've already made, even, and am open to hearing any suggestions. I want this to be fun, and a different experience from those who attempt to create a Simulation experience. Dunks, Threes, Steals, Blocks, Flashy Passes, big swings.

So, by all means, please post your suggestions for any team, as well as any Badges you feel should be equipped that aren't, if you'd like. (Hell, feel free to post specific plays you'd like added, or really any tweaks, if you want -- I'm open to any and all suggestions) I'm hoping to get back to work tomorrow, as today I'm watching 15 straight hours of football.

Pick Thompson instead of Varejao and Miller instead of Waiters.

Lakers:
Kobe Bryant
Henry Xavier
Wesley Johnson
Carlos Boozer
Jordan Hill. (or you can move all players' up and erase Hill if you want to keep either Nash or Lin)

Wolves:
Rubio
Lavine
Martin
Wiggins
Pekovic

Just some suggestions

My initial thought was Lin at PG, Kobe at SG, with Nash available off the bench. Didn't really consider Xavier Henry, but I will. (Y)

The Wolves are a lot tougher than I thought they'd be. Thad Young vs. Kevin Martin is a tough one for me. I may end up with Brady Heslip being the bench guy and speculate that his limitless range in the NCAA will translate to the NBA. Otherwise, though, I definitely want LaVine and Rubio both in.

Thanks. (Y) (Y)

I would just use the actual starting 5s, and then give every starting player crazy dunk ratings, dunk badges, dunk packages ect.

Too many blah starters in the league, with more fun players on the bench. I like there to be disparity between this and the other rosters. Using the Knicks as an example, they're a much more fun team with Shump in the lineup and Dalembert out of it. Same with a guy who can rain threes on the bench who can be a fun arcade guy if you get him going, or a monster high flyer, etc.

That's why you edit the players to make them more fun.

Ok, so I've "finished" the Knicks, Cavs, and Wizards. I use the quotes, because all I've done is edit ratings, tendencies, badges, and rotations. Ultimately there should be a TON more done to make things truly done, but that will depend on how deep I dive in-game, and if/when we are able to get a Roster Editor, as well as possibly be given the ability to share rosters alternatively.

At any rate, a few more teams and I'll Share the roster, just to see if people can get a feel for how it plays and provide feedback.

Definitely Bulls up next -- here was my initial thought:
PG: Rose
SG: Dunleavy Jr.
SF: Butler
PF: Gasol
C: Noah
BN: Gibson
BN: McDermott

My thought on Hinrich is you're never going to sub out Rose from an Arcade/JAM style game. My thoughts on McDermott were to provide another 3-Point Threat to replate Butler, if you wanted to work the perimeter with (same way Jimmer would be included with the Pelicans). I can include Hinrich as well, if you want to move Rose to the 2 I guess. It's easy enough to include him, as well.

That's a good point. I figured Hinrich was prominent enough in the rotation to be included, and could provide some three-point shooting, but I wouldn't have minded if he did end up getting left out. In any case, good stuff!

WouLd love some more feedback and sugfestions for other teams, angles I may not be considering, quiet monster dunkers who may not be great NBA players, but are fun Arcade-style players, etc.

What's the most fun lineup for the Pelicans? The Hornets? Raptors?

Daniels over sliding everyone down one and having Terrence Jones? I think I'm more likely to have him as a BN option along with Jason Terry.

Finished Clippers (except Crawford). If anyone is interested in testing how things have come so far, I'll post the Settings I use, and Share the roster, so I can get some feedback.

So will be just a roster update right? Could you make them all short but still have the same crazy dunks etc to give it that nba jam look?

That's a very interesting idea that I may very well give a shot to (the height part) -- it sounds awesome; hopefully it is as cool in practice as it sounds in theory. I've done some dunk tweaking already, but am hoping to get a roster editor to make the process quicker eventually.

Ok, roster should be called 'Arcase' by Username 'brendanhorton'. I dropped everyone's height by a foot, but the minimum height is 5'4", so anyone under 6'4" went down to that. Again, just the 5 teams listed above. It really requires Settings & Sliders -- make sure Fatigue is turned off. I'll post more info soon. Let me know if we're on the right track, at least, what you'd like to see, etc. (Y)

Updated with:

PELICANS:
C - Anthony Davis
PF - Alan Anderson
SF - Tyreke Evans
SG - Eric Gordon
PG - Jrue Holiday
BN - Jimmer Fredette

Re-Uploaded. Again, it's 'Arcade' by 'brendanhorton'. Should be way at the bottom.
