PSA: Important Information Regarding Save Reset Bug

I've had a small number of reports from users where their MyLEAGUE/MyGM save would reset when in their save and visiting the team select screen after selecting "Play Game" or loading an in-game save.

This is caused because of an edge-case bug that occurs when you select a custom roster using the Y/Triangle button in Quick Game. If that's one of the last things you did (independent of whether you played the quick game or not) before you load your MyGM/MyLEAGUE save, then it is possible that visiting the team select menu in your save might reset it.

To avoid this from happening, DO NOT load a MyGM/MyLEAGUE save after using a custom roster in quick game. Restart the game completely by closing the application and starting it again in between.

UPDATE: A user notified me to the fact that this is also happening if you use a Custom Roster in the Team Select screen for a Freestyle or other practice. So let me generalize this and say that if outside of a game-mode you've selected a Custom Roster in Team Select via the Y/Triangle button, DO NOT load your MyGM/MyLEAGUE saves without restarting the game.

This should not affect anyone that doesn't use custom rosters for quick game. In any run of the game where you didn't use a custom roster in quick game, you're not at risk of having your MyGM/MyLEAGUE save reset.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are looking to have this fixed without the need for a workaround as soon as possible.

Edge cases are the most annoying things associated with programming. I feel your pain.

I never customized my rosters in any mode. I'm wondering if MyCareer also counts on this bug?

Official 2K roster reverts back to old/original roster and the new roster does not show injuries for the players.

Yes, any edits you do using the roster creator count as a custom roster. But unless you use it in NBA Today/Quick Game using Y and then go into your MyLEAGUE/MyGM save, you're safe. Just remember, if you used a roster with any edits in quick game, restart the game before loading up a MyLEAGUE/MyGM save.

Leftos...why was there a need to overhaul the roster implementation from 2K14? It worked fine, you could edit the rotations by adding players that were on the IR list, or change lineups. I personally don't like the new system. Also..why did 2K remove the save game feature in quick games, where you could return later to finish a game?

Ok my bad... Srry, but what about the save game question? Isn't that kinda related to this thread?

Leftos, please, try to make possible "save as" option or a backup mode for MyPlayer or MyLeague, actual system its too risk for this modes, im here playing 3 or 4 season with 82 games...

So, imagine....after 2 complete seasons, a have some bug to DELETE MyLeague save....

While it isn't as convenient as a manual save option, making a manual backup of the save file is probably a viable workaround in the meantime.

Andrew, it´s not possible.

I try it.....save all Steam user folder (5GB)....after this, simulate some games....renamed saved folder.... back again backup folder, starts the game and......

SAVE GAME ARE CORRUPTED! I dont know 2k make on saves this year, but manual backup not working on 2k15.
