Forum Updated to phpBB v2.0.10

I've just updated the NLSC Forum to phpBB v2.0.10. During that time you may have experienced errors trying to access or post in the forum. As far as I can tell there are no problems with the upgrade and you should not encounter any more errors. I apologise for the temporary inconvenience.

I don't plan on adding a chatroom to the forum in the immediate future.

It's not that I'm closed to the idea, it's just that the chatroom add-on for phpBB is supposed to be buggy and more trouble than it's worth.

I know, but if we were to have a chatroom it would be better if it was integrated with phpBB. Like I said, I don't have any immediate plans to add a chatroom but I'll never dismiss the idea entirely.

Chat systems on interenet forums never work out. They have it on the neowin.net forums and I haven't noticed more than 2 people at the most on at the same time. And over there, they have a community of over 50,000 users, more than ten times the number of people browsing this site.

Very true. Most people do prefer to post on a message board since their posts are archived and it's easier to join a discussion that was started a day or two earlier.

I think PM is the closest thing we're gonna get; someone should host a separate chat client for chatting between NLSC members...
