Optimum video settings for low/medium end users?

Sun Oct 12, 2014 7:25 am

As title says, what do you low end guys find works best? Which specific settings are more resource-demanding than others? I put my AA at 8 at one point and the game pretty much shat itself. However high player textures seems to get handled okay.

What's the verdict on Vsync? Worth it?

Throw in your opinions here lads..

The "special effects" seem to be very demanding. The courts basically look like shit without it though.

Low and medium settings doesn't make a difference for me. I get the same 18-22 FPS on max or very low with 840M 2GB and i5 processor. I know that my laptop isnt the best out there but it fits recommended req :(

To me it's the crowd. Have to stick with low but medium isn't any better. On medium crowd textures are still loading when you get near them.

VSync is to limit the framerate to your monitors refresh rate to stop screen tearing. If you're struggling to get 60fps, VSync is useless, and actually causes MORE lag.

Turn off Special Effects, AA either on 2 or 1, Shader Cache on Low, Player on Medium, Texture on high, VSync off.

Oh and anyone want to tell me what the Aspect Ratio thing does?

For people with weird aspect ratios, with it on, it keeps a proper 16:9 aspect ratio with letterboxing instead of stretching the image.

So I can turn it off without any fps drops/gains?

Does shader affects jerseys? Or is it only for player shadows on court?

Also for sweat.

Everyone want to play on high settings because the graphics looks stunning except court lightning.

But the biggest resource hog is Special Effects, Player Detail level and Crowd as far as I know.

Removing all 3 will give a huge fps boost, trust me I ve tryed.

Yep. Another big one is resolution. I was able to have everything on high except for AA & special effects @1080p but I just couldn't stand the bland boring courts... They just simply suck without special effects. so I had to turn it on and lower my resolution a notch. Now I have to deal with jaggy upscaling but at least i have court reflections :applaud:

It affects tons of stuff as far as i can tell. Jerseys, hair, the court effects, etc.
I think it's basically the same thing as running dx11 vs dx10

Not really. I play it with only the crowd on low and the special effects turned off. It's freakin amazing, tbh.
