Hmm, why do you take such offense to someone being critical? I've given the game plenty of praise, but when I hand over hard earned cash for a game that has for the most part gone backwards, I more than have a right to mention negatives alongside those positives. You only have to look on page one of this thread to see some positive first impressions. So maybe stop getting defensive?

Oh and calm down. Calm, calm down.

I believe the problem is that here the majority are over ecstatic that we finally get a proper next gen (maxed out the game truly does look amazing and no enb's or sweetfx mods are required), so you with your “The graphic downgrade cycle starts here” statement have made a stamp on your forehead and when you continue that with bitching about the lack of progress bar you are getting even closer at being viewed as a certified hater and therefore you rightly deserve the response KevinParker13 made.

Finally was able to get in my first game in between coming home from a half-day of work, and attending a wedding later this afternoon. 2K15 is a superior game to 2K14 in every possible way. There is no comparison, graphically. I am thankfully not experiencing any of the reported micro-stuttering as others are, as mine is seamless and fluent. The controls feel a tad clunky, but I attribute some of that to a learning curve, since it plays very different; and some of it to forcing players to actually move realistically. I think after adjusting to it, it will feel as natural as previous games. The AI is much tougher to play against. You can't just chuck down court or try and run break -- it makes the successes feel more earned and better. The player models look fantastic, and I am experiencing none of the weird things being reported by others -- it's visually incredible. I'm looking forward to hopefully having some more time to get games in and acclimate to the new game on Sunday. (Y)

Quick gameplay impressions, will add more later:
- I can't play defense anymore. When I'm in control, the player slide all over the place, I can't stay in front of anyone. It's like hockey. And whenever the cpu does a crossover, the opposite happens: I can't move my feet, not even to foul him and prevent the layup. (I've tried pressing LB1 and moving the right analog stick, they only make the responsiveness slower) And as a center, when I press the block button, most of the time he jumps way out of reach or doesn't jump at all.
- Overall the button responses are a lot slower than 2K14 (I'm using the same gamepad).
- Player movements are herky-jerky. Examples: Players usually running too fast towards the baseline and you can feel the force-field there, pulling them back; I'm waiting for the center to position himself, but he often runs too hard and gets the ball close to the 3-point line; Whenever a block or a tipped rebound happens, a lot of times I've seen the player unaware of where the ball is and watching it bounce off him out of bounds.
- Playing as the Suns, I called 2K smart plays ten times in a row, and it was the same exact play.
- Too many dunks in traffic, too many cpu offensive rebounds. I'm yet to try a fix through gameplay sliders though, I hope they work.

Started MyGM mode with Pacers (without George for Season), gotten players like Bledsoe and Ross for the team and I'm still 0-5 to start on Superstar.. Of course, game looks more realistic in many aspect of the game, now you have to be much more tactical to succeed, but there is still too much of third quarter and offensive rebounding cheese. Just played a game against Wizards. In the first half my 3-point shooting was great at 60% and I was up by 8. Then the third quarter started and everything fell apart: I started missing all of my wide open 3s, even though my release on shot meter were the same as in the first half, CPU started making almost everything even with contact and won the quarter 33 to 14.. I understand, that when I do not release all of the shots on perfect I can get unlucky, but still, missing almost everything from good positions, when you made those same shots a quarter ago with good shooters, while CPU keeps making every off-balance shot over the hands of my defenders feels a bit unfair.. Also, the CPU offensive rebounding is still ridiculous, 2K really needs to rework rebounding in the future, imo. Also, as somebody said before, the shooting feels heavy and clumsy, makes those athletes feel like some amateur 50 year olds who came to play on some street court after work. So, even though I'm not very good at this game yet, and it's the first new-gen 2k game for me, but these things seem a bit like cheating still and really gives more frustration than proper NBA entertainment.. However, I love many other things about this game, like being able to register 13 players for a match, trading even 2018 draft picks, all the presentation, soundtrack, small details on MyGM (parking pricing, jersey sales, talking with players), roster creator that let's you add injuries to players (a thing that let me play with my favourite team Pacers, allowing me to make moves I would want them to do in reality while waiting for George's return), but those cons in gameplay make my experience so far kind of a mixed bag, which really disappoints me a bit, because I was quite hyped for this game.

I heard from a friend who has it, besides a few positive additions and some negative deletions, this is nothing more than a $60.00 patch of NBA2K14.

I'd say that's selling the improvements short, particularly the addition of MyLEAGUE, but I guess to a certain extent, we could say that about most annual sports titles.

So I finally decided to play a little online (PS4). I know 2K is infamous for having really bad servers, but this is ridiculous. One of my worst online experiences in a sports game ever. First off, when servers are working, the game is unplayable because of the delay. There's about a 1 second delay from when you hit the button to when the player does the command, this makes defense almost impossible to play. I know that this is common in 2k games, but I can't recall last year being this bad. I played a regular game vs a friend and I played mypark. Mypark I got disconnected after a couple minutes.

Also tried myteam. I want to first say I've never played myteam on 2k. I just started playing Ultimate/My team mode in any game this year on Madden15. Compared to the EA Version of Ultimate team, I really do not like myteam at all on 2k, and it's all because of the UI. Ultimate team in Madden has been extremely enjoyable for me, it's literally the only game mode I play in the game, everything is so intuitive, and easy to navigate. Auctions in Madden are straight forward, switch between about 5-6 quick jump categories and get right to what you're looking for. And you can also do a more detailed search, which is also easy to navigate, very straight forward. 2K auction house on the other hand is just a mess. I couldn't quick sort by price or time remaining. I don't even want to ramble off all the UI fails from my perspective. I just know I wont be playing that mode again.

In 36 hours of no internet, I burned my time playing NBA 2K15. While the graphics is really amazing (very realistic skins and sweats), as well as a much improve MyCareer storyline, the gameplay is still not that great. For an enthusiast like me who wants to run plays all the time, gameplay is the most important partof NBA2K game! Lebron James scoring all Cleveland points in the first quarter??? we played with them in the playoffs (MyCareer) and in all four meetings, Lebron does all the scoring in the first quarter!!!??FTW Too unrealistic. Not only that, in every opposing team I play with, no matter who they are and what kind of players they have, it looks like there is no balance. Benchwarmers is playing like superstars who can shoot 3's at will and barely miss, even when contested! I was very excited to play this game, expecting that a better gameplay will be introduced, unfortunately, no improvement at all or even if there is, it is barely noticeable.

Had to drop the difficulty to Rookie to help bridge the learning curve, and it helped tremendously. Hoping to go back up to Pro sometime tomorrow, as I get a feel for the new movement and control. I LOVE that stupid passes are picked off, and that sometimes so are weak passes into the paint. Love the animations and collisions. Anybody trying to compare this to 2K14 for PC is suffering from sour grapes over some problem on their end, or has really questionable judgment, and I probably wouldn't listen to them on anything. Personal preference, of course. For me, this is superior in just about every possible way, and that's out of the box.

Also, I'm going to begin tweaking some things to go for an Arcade-y feel, as that's ultimately what keeps me playing the game over and over and stops me from growing bored of it.

Lastly, and maybe I'm a fool, but unlike 2K14 for PC (can't remember for PS4), there's no options to turn off things like out of bounds, 5 second inbound, goaltending, etc. are there? I couldn't find them anywhere. The only things are in User and PC Sliders for fouls, and even dropping them all the way down you still get fouls. Again, this is for when I'm looking to get an Arcade 2K14 mod up and running, and it's kind of essential (eh, more like extremely preferred). If I'm the fool who's missing something right in front of my face, please set me straight, thanks.

Ok after playing extensively I do feel like I can get used to on ball defense.. As I played 3 back to back to back games today against my cousin I found myself getting better with on ball defense and jumping for rebounds(there is a delay between pressing and actually jumping).. I only played about 7 matches on PS4 but the defense has been my only gripe so far..

12 minutes! He scores at least 25 points in each first quarter against my previous team (Toronto) and end up with 45+ points.

So I would like to add my first impression of online game:
Today, I was able to connect to MyPark, there were people playing, actually played several games (and won some) with my big almost undeveloped center - turns out having a double digits rebounds helps a lot.
Unlike at launch when I pressed Got Next to get into the box it reacted immedeately and I did not have to wait several minutes just to get into the box.
Playing in MyPark feels a bit "heavier", but it's not that bad of a lag as some described.

Then I took on quick online match - waited for about ten seconds and here we go. I selected my Heat team, the other guy selected Wizards. His nickname was "jay" and some numbers.
Turns out the other guy doesn't know how to play basketball at semi sim level - he played only with one set of players (Wall, Beal, Pierce, Nene, Gortat) and all he did was giving the ball to Wall and trying to sprint through the court for layup/dunk. After he did it twice I got used to stop him near 3pt line, after halftime I was leading by 9 points, doing what I thought was Miami-like offence.
In 3rd quarter he tried to get out of the deficit by shooting threes - my lead became 13 points big and Danny Granger did self-alley oop layup on a fastbreak. Next possession Wade lobbed the ball for Brown for very nice side arm tomahawk slam.
After that at the beginning of the fourth quarter the guy decided to continue shooting threes, he was missing all the time and when I showcased him my passing (about 8 passes on that possession) and finished with nice three from Bosh he disconnected.
It gave me nice amount of VC, 10/10 would humiliate again.

Online play was OK, some lag was there, but I could play with it, just commentators were a bit delayed. Some stutters also present.

The knock the ball out of bounds animation is more prevalent this year, does it at least 3 or 4 times a game, 3 pt shots that hit the top of the backboard and bounce in are more common, and the ever present offensive rebounding bug hasn't went anywhere. The CPU never misses shots also, contested or not. Shooting the ball is much harder IMO, and the game play seems to be tighter, but I haven't played enough to make a determination.
