Steam version is unlocked

Tue Oct 07, 2014 4:17 pm

Got home an hour ago and clicked play, it unpacked and been playing for about an hour now....
I got a high end PC, and I mean really high end, I maxed out settings Anti Aliasing at 8 and Anti Aliasing quality at 16, and I am still getting hiccups every once in a while in certain camera angles, don't know what the deal is I know it's not my PC for sure...

Anyway, to you guys that got the game on PC, give it a go and let us know what you think..........

My quick little review would be that signature 2K bulk is back and I don't think 2K will ever fix that, their mentality is they suppose their gameplay is on point so not broke they don't wanna fix it.... Except that it IS broke, every player feels like they're the same 300 pound man, there is rarely a moment where you feel that distinction between guard and a forward or center. Moving around Chris Paul Matt Barnes, or Griffin.... I mean they feel almost identical, the guards are supposed to feel crisp and quick and light on their feet, you're supposed to feel swift when you blow by your defender, and the big men are supposed to feel bulky but more powerful when you throw their bodies around, you're supposed to feel the contact you're dishing and receiving
There is nothing and never has been anything in 2K that even resembles the underlined comment, it's something that I think sliders can't even fix and I don't think it will be fixed until they implement legit physics based system/engine in the game

that's the end of my review, game's real nice to look at but same old 2K gameplay, just polished a bit more.... I personally cannot wait to see what modders do with it this year

Oh also, passing is still horrible.... it's floaty, out of control and almost completely unrealistic... case and point, Chris gets the ball in bounded at free throw line, Matt Barnes is down the floor at their 3 point line wide open nobody within 10 feet of him, I pass the ball with Chris Paul the best passer in the world and instead of a swift strong chest pass he gets in the same old ridiculous passing animation where he puts the ball back with both hands behind his head winds it up like he;'s about to do a Derrick Rose dunk, throws it over Matt Barnes who does a complete 360 twirl while trying to catch the ball with 1 hand before it goes out of bounds.... Can you please post screenshot of video settings menu and tell what fsp you have on your PC on max setting?

I'll go back in game and take a couple of screenshots..... menu looks great and very streamlined, a complete turnaround from last year's absolutely horrible menu system they had

I think the momentary hiccups have to do with refresh rate or something, happens like once a minute or so.... it's a locked 60fps by the way, i havent tried turning off v-sync to see what FPS im getting will do that

r

argh please tell me its not an AMD card and this is not an AMD issue again. I used to have GTX570 and NBA 2k14 played butter smooth, changed to a more powerful AMD R9 280X and game was unplayable until I edited something in the config file but still not as butter smooth as my GTX 570

Anyone tried MyCareer? I'm not a huge fan of the new story style.

Re: Steam version is unlocked

Ok i turned off v-sync and the Frame Rate is locked to 120fps, so I'm getting steady 120 fps but obviously with some screen tearing because no v-sync.....

Wicked I have crossfire R9 290x cards, and as you can see in the pictures they both work so Crossfire does work, those little micro stutters are probably something to do with the v-sync and refresh rate or something like that, I have no idea, it just looks like that the 60hz refresh rate drops for a split second and it goes down to 59fps for a split second... it's happening like once every 30 seconds or so

Love the menus. Can't wait to squeeze the best out of my gtx 980   What is the max for anti-aliasing quality ? 32?

Micro stuttering is what you get in multi-GPU configurations, so its not an issue of nba 2k15. Its a well known fact and a disadvantage for CF setups ;)

i get micro stutter too everyone once in awhile

Im running single R9 280X but I had the microstuttering problem with NBA 2k14. Have yet to test 2k15 but for 2K14, my older GTX 570 performed better than my R9 280X

Are you running the game on hard drive or ssd ? There are other issues that may cause micro-stuttering in games besides the gpu.

There's only one 'Merica, and it's the U.S. of 'Merica.

By the way. For any of you guys who already got the game. I can see screenshots that you are logged on. Were you able to login and register with your existing MyPLAYER 2K Accounts? Or did you have to create a new one again like in 2K14? Cos I had BLaZiNgSPEED for 2K13. And then for 2K14 it didn't allow me to login and register with existing MyPLAYER account. I had to create a new one with BLaZiNgSPEED89. So I'm asking if I am going to have to create a new one again or can I login and register with the existing MyPLAYER Account? :) I'm getting the game this Friday.

OFC not.

I just woke up and I'm about to try the game without Crossfire see if the stuttering happens again....

I could not create a my player account there seems to be a glitch when it asks for my eMail address, and no matter what key I press on my keyboard it gets typed in as the number 7... hopefully there is an update through steam soon to fix some of these issues...

I also really wonder with the way the files are this time around, that maybe just MAYBE we get some official mod tools and people can make mods through Steam like most other PC games, we can have a workshop in steam

Try using your gamepad to enter your name as you would on a console.

In previous version(s) you could just type out your name with your keyboard.
