Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

The trailer features voices from many NBA players. And it also showed coach Doc Rivers talking so talking coaches might be a thing, too. What is offputting is that they seldom make eye contact during conversations. Other than that, great detail to add realism/immersion.

The players sound very monotone.

Can't really blame them for that. Although, they are trained to talk to media, they are not really actors. It must've been awkward saying random lines and being expressive while looking at a screen(or paper).

The dialog always seems so unnatural and this year is no different.
Also Harden, and by extension everyone seem to have anatomically impossibly small biceps, or their forearms are too large.

The lighting looks awesome in the Harden clips.

They need to have a voice that doesn't sound like any particular race. That voice coming out of Ronnie just sounds ridiculous. Whether people want to admit it or not, voices are different depending on a persons race(Much of the time). It's like having a Jamaican voice coming out of Steve Kerr. It just doesn't work.

Cmon guys, its an improvement,

Guys, we should be glad that there's improvement.

That's pretty sick. By the looks of it, they got a player from each team to be your mentor. I wonder what's going to happen when your the star, though.

James Harden recognises good defense? I thought they were all about realism?
The players do sound a bit monotone, so perhaps they could've used some better direction (or another take), but that's still really cool. Far more immersive than your player having a voice, while chatting to players who silently mouth along to text.

I'm curious to know if you will eventually become a mentor once you achieve being a Star Player and also will the "Dynamic Duo" situation be improved this year and will there be Chemistry between you and your Mentor and will it reflect on the team chemistry overall.
Thu Sep 25, 2014 10:59 am
That'd be cool if a fictional rookie came along at some point and you got to play that role, but I'm guessing that probably isn't happening this year.

Guys, c'mon. Even if you're the best player in the team, you still need to be mentored. Remember that the Spurs had Caldwell Jones to mentor David Robinson. David Robinson mentored Tim Duncan. Anyway, the problem now will be.. WHAT IF THE MENTOR was TRADED TO ANOTHER TEAM?
Still, a nice job by 2K.

My guess is that they won't be, at least until the cutscenes have run their course.
Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:34 am
Well, from the sound of it, they start appearing right from the beginning of the 10 day contracts, so you probably gonna see them a lot in the first [half] season. Then if somebody gets traded away it might be back to just subtitles (generic voiceover?).
I guess stars won't be traded in the first month and a half

Hoping Javale is the mentor for the Nuggets.

harden's skintone looking like he has 2-year old mumps.

And also, what will happen if the mentor got traded or for whatever reason, not in the team anymore?

1. Yeah, I don't think they expect people to care/notice a player walking by twice. lol Just plain old "it doesn't really matter" by 2k.
2. Unfortunately I'm positive that the "mentor player" is LOCKED with the team. at least until all dialogue has been completed. When I was with the kings in NBA 2k14. Boogie was ALWAYS there with me on the team.

Wonder which one of these NBA players actually did a good job in acting. Someone should make a compilation

James Harden talked about defense. He gets the Oscar.
