Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

It was $60 in here until steam changed our payment currency from USD to Philippine Peso this day.

After the conversion, it is sale for only P1439.95 or

I don't know what happend. Did the steam price in USD also went down? Or maybe they converted wrong? Or maybe they price it based on regions?
Anyway, I bought it was $60 because I didn't expect anything like this to happen.

It only costs that much in that region tho. When i tried there was a notice.
Wed Sep 17, 2014 12:41 pm
Not that I'm complaining, but why did they lower the price in our region? I looked for other $60 games, and they are listed P1439.95 ($32) as well but $30 games were listed 1249.95 ($30).

I think they lessened the price in our country because of 2 reasons:
1. Filipino's never-ending love for basketball (2014 marked the centennial of basketball in PH, something to be proud of)
2. WIDESPREAD PIRACY (something to be ashamed of)

I don't think they'll lower the price for that reason.

Yea. That is really sad. But still, I don't think that they'll lower the price for that reason.
I think they made a mistake tagging the prices. The Naruto game ($50), is priced higher than $60 games. And yes, games. Not only NBA 2k15 but other $60 games as well.

Is Basketball really a thing in the Philippines? Well, that explains why half this sites members are Filipino.

Filipinos love basketball. We still watch the FIBA World Cup though we are already out of the bracket and USA will definitely win it (and they did). We really follow the NBA. You hear men talking everywhere about the league in the streets, in schools, in offices, in malls, EVERYWHERE. We play ball through scorching hot summers with temperature up to 39 degrees Celsius; to high floods and rains caused by Typhoon Haiyan where some images went viral. Not to mention, some girls also follow the league. I can still remember five years ago in school that we went to our computer room just to peek our female teachers watching 09 Lakers vs Celtics Game 7 with their bets prepared.

Why is it available in Oct 10?
Wed Sep 17, 2014 4:25 pm
Because that's when it's released outside of the US..
Wed Sep 17, 2014 9:20 pm
19.95€ from Amazon.de still a way better Deal
Wed Sep 17, 2014 10:23 pm
Well, it sounds like a retail version here in the Phils. They cost half the price. I believe that it will be 1695 PHP (minus 100 if bought by cash) when it was released. I guess I'll just buy a steam wallet.

)
Good thing this would be cheaper. Might be able to buy a lot of games on Christmas.

) Imagine those $60 games/ 1425PHP would go from that price to 357PHP when it gets a sale of 75%.

Come on guys, why complain on the sudden price drop? Don't you like it?

Anyways, is there any advantages on buying.on Steam rather than buying the physical copy?
Fri Sep 19, 2014 9:39 am
Not having to swap discs when you want to play something else.

Retail Copy = Steam

Disc-Checks don't exist anymore since like 2006 or so...

NBA 2K13 had the check.

It also had frustrating issues with its CD key, making re-installation far more of a chore than it needed to be. As I understand it, that's not an issue with the Steam version.

Yes it did, If you had to format your computer you knew you were going to have to talk to customer service for awhile because you couldn't log in to your user name inside the game after a new install. They had to issue me a new key after I jumped through enough hoops to prove I actually bought the game. At first the guy on the phone tried to convince me that there was no such thing as a PC version of NBA 2K13.
Fri Sep 19, 2014 2:22 pm
It took me about three months to get a new CD key, during which time there was a Steam sale that allowed me to pick it up again for just a couple of bucks. Needless to say, it didn't give me a positive impression of 2K Support.

You don't have to worry about reformatting your computer! There is a very simple solution to avoid this problem with the login. I wrote a guide recently to respond to one user on the NBA 2K official forums. Here's a copy and paste of it...
The solution to the problem is this!
1. Go to your old PC and take out the registry key of NBA 2K14 by going into Start-->regedit (Registry Editor).
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER--->Software>2K Sports Folder--->NBA 2K14.
3. Copy the entire registry data and export it and save it. It will have all the details of your Account, Username, Password and Serial Number.
4. Save it in your USB Drive and copy and import it onto your new PC and import the new registry key values.
5. Make sure you also copy the savegame file from your previous computer, or it may not work.
Now when you login to your new computer/reformatted PC it will automatically log you in without asking for user login or CD Key.
It works, I've tested it myself before when I had to reformat my PC with 2K13 and only saving the registry key and the save game file did the trick.
However, if you don't save those save game files, registry keys, then you are doomed unfortunately & will need to contact Customer Support. But hopefully you still have them on your other PC, make sure you transfer them onto your other computer!
In fact I did it again this time just a few days ago when I reformatted windows to upgrade to 64-bit OS from 32-bit. Same mechanism worked again, I'm still playing NBA 2K14 fine. So yeah, you don't have to worry about buying the Retail DVD version. Plus the advantage is that you will be able to install your game quicker on DVD even if it requires multiple DVDs to install. It's much easier to install 50 GB of data from DVDs than it is to download it via steam, even with a fast connection.
I reinstalled Max Payne 3 and Hitman: Absolution on my new 64-bit system using DVD versions. It took 45 minutes for the installation procedure but both of them are over 30 GB. Now imagine if I had to download all that data via steam? It would probably take 10 hours or more even with my 20 Mbps connection! This is why I would buy NBA 2K15 on DVD to avoid that hassle. Even if the game is steam works, we will still have the advantages to install the game via DVDs.

That is bullshit and does not work with a Steamworks Game...

No way!, Philippines is a basketball first country but that doesn't make us a favorite.
anyway, I just pre-ordered a retail version of nba 2k15, and the crew told me that they will release it a day earlier, oct. 6, 2014. YES!
