Hi guys i just registered here to join the topic and im a big fan of NBA 2K series.

I just hope that this game doesnt use the TressFX effect or if they do i hope there a disable function. Since this is a next gen game im assuming they use TressFX (Hopefully they dont). cause based on my experience playing a game (Tomb Raider: Survival Edition) with TressFX function when i try to play it normal it gives me a decent fps on high setting (w/ my mid range gaming PC) but when i try to turn on the TressFX the fps went down massively and give me lags and i cant enjoy the game.

I want to enjoy this game so i hope they dont stress out GPU much cause im just mid range PC gamer . Cheers :D

I don't believe the game uses it, like you said, in tomb raider you loose a good amount of FPS (depends on your specs) and it's just with Lara, so with all players on court .... nah, i doubt it

Are you using an AMD card? nVidia cards apparently can't run TressFX as well as an AMD card. Which would make since since TressFX is an AMD product/feature. Either way I have not heard anything about 2K15 using TressFX. Would be cool to see in a year or two though.

dont worry about Tressfx.. very few games use this Tech and if your PC is decent it doesnt matter if you have an AMD or NVidia

a good CPU can help an AMD card with Nvidia based Physyx
and a good Nvidia Graphics Card can help a decent CPU with AMD tech like TressFX

i have a GTX 660OC 2gb and can run TressFX on Tomb Raider just fine on max settings

but for real.. dont worry... it will take a while till its commonly used

There are plenty of people having big FPS drops when using TressFX in TR with nVidia cards. Especially on older cards and older drivers.

well i know it might sound harsh but if your Card is so old that you cant even install the newest Drivers you propably need to upgrade

besides gaming performance running hardware on outdated drivers is not good for your overall System Health and Stability

If he had a card that old he wouldn't be able to play Tomb Raider at all.

I would guess maybe medium on a lower resolution. You have a newer video card but it's a little under powered to play at a high resolution IMO.

The CPU and GPU would need significant upgrades.

If you want to run this game on max, you will need to pass on buying that rig. Like TBM said, you would need to upgrade both the CPU and the GPU and probably the motherboard too. The most expensive parts of the PC.

Specs :
Case : Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case With Upgraded USB 3.0
Power Supply : 700 Watt CoolMax Power Supply
Processor : Intel Core i7 2600k CPU @3.40 GHZ 2nd Generation
Memory/RAAM : DDR3 4X8 G.B
Video Card : MSI Nvidia Geoforce GTX 770 Twin Frozr 2GB GDDR5 OC
Hard Drive : 1 Terabyte
Motherboard : ASUS P8Z77-V PRO
I'm really starting to think my i7 might be slightly out of date for 2K15 but I could be wrong.

Any I7 is enough to play with max settings, like a lot of people said even if you use high end I5 it's enough to run any game with max settings so don't worry about that, you're fine; i'm 100% sure you'll be able to play the game max settings 1080p 60fps with these specs

Looks like you are showing off with this build lol, if you don't know what your comp can handle or not that's sad xD

Not showing off at all...I know what it can handle but eventually this i7 will be out of date and I have had it for 2 Years but other than that I know it can handle anything I bought the 770 for a reason but I still know my i7 will probably have to be updated soon.

I have a i5-3570k 3.40 g hz with a GTX 660 TI OC 2Gb and still able to run most games max settings so I don't think you have to worry ^^ If i have to upgrade something that's my GPU, CPU still doing his job

Hi guys, wanted to check with you do i need to upgrade my pc for Nba 2k15, here are my pc specs:

Intel(R)Core(TM)i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz

Geforce GTX 580
Memory Clock
2004 MHz (4008 data rate)
Standard Memory Config
1536
Memory Interface
GDDR5
Memory Interface Width
384-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec)
192.4

8GB of RAM

Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit

Playing the latest games on max settings, also boosted the parameters in my graphic control panel to max...etc, i did not had any problems to run games on max...not sure how it's going to be with next gen Nba 2k15 so wanted to hear your opinions.

thx.

It was literally unplayable even with a R9280x, I had slowdowns to 40fps with TressFX.

You mean "3.4 GHz Quad Core" right ? And "NVIDIA Geforce 560 Ti " 1Gb or 2Gb ? If it's 2Gb you're fine, you have what they are asking in recommended
