Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

Or NBA 2K16. We want to activate rookies in MyCareer.
Mon Aug 25, 2014 11:28 pm
You mean using real rookie instead of your own?

This would be awesome!

In other words, the return of Creating a Legend.

Confirmed?

No, I'm saying that's basically what we're asking for here.
And while I didn't make use of it myself, I think it would be a good idea, as I know others did.

i never saw the reason behind removing this feature. i can't see it being that hard to place back in

Yes. That is correct.

Not sure I understand the question/request even with everyone explaining. Wait never mind you mean Create-A-Legend mode or whatever mode that allowed you to choose any player and basically play a MyCareer mode. Didn't that disappear in 2K12 or something? I wouldn't mind a return of that mode. I would love to play as Wiggins and destroy the Cavs in game.

creating a legend and my career is two different modes to be clear, we would love to see mycareer mode with possibility of playing current rookies(or all players) but with all features from mycareer mode.

That's what I mean.

Telemetry data probably indicated that it wasn't being used all that much.

What about, and I know Andrew would like this, a setting when starting a MyCareer for you to be able to choose the current-gen, no storymode version. It would probably not be too difficult at all to implement.

Current-gen is the one with story mode.
Other than that, it would be nice for some I guess.

Current gen to me is PS360. Next gen is X1/PS4/PC.
Tue Aug 26, 2014 5:31 pm
That's like calling GTX 780 a 'next-gen gpu'.
Tue Aug 26, 2014 5:36 pm
If the current gen/next gen/last gen terminology is getting too confusing, inconsistent, or confusingly inconsistent, we could always go with the terms Gen 3 and Gen 4 (360/PS3 and PS4/X1 respectively), terminology that developers themselves are using.
As for the MyCAREER suggestion, that'd definitely appeal to me. I don't see it happening though, and that's fine. I'll give it another look this year and see if it's more to my liking; worst case scenario, MyLEAGUE sounds like it'll cater to me, and I'll give MyGM and MyTEAM another look as well.

That's a good idea Andrew.
But for the past couple of years, current gen has been the 360/PS3 with next gen being PS4/XB1. Why do some people feel the need to change it and invite confusion. People need to just relax and stop trying to change common terminology until something new comes along or is announced.

@Andrew - I think that's a great idea
@columbusbobby23 - It comes down to the definition of the words. As soon as Xbox 360/PS3 were released they became "Current Gen", and the existing PS2/XBOX became Last-Gen. Then the PS4 and Xbox One was announced, and that's it, the consoles were announced but not released making "Next Gen" work as they were suppose to be the Next-Gen consoles. The PS4 and Xbox One has been released since November of last year...It technically should be called "Current-Gen" as soon as it's released.
So while some people may feel that their 360/PS3 are current gen, some people see them as last-gen. The Next-Gen Consoles were released, they are now being used by many people and they are the Current Generation of Hardware and Games. Technically both 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4 are current. Why? Because both platforms still get new games. But it would be confusing for both to be called Current.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles have had the "Current-Gen" title for nearly 10 years. The PS4/Xbox One has been around for almost an year, and the graphics for PS4 and Xbox One has existed for PC for a long while now. It's about time people call the 10 year old consoles Last-Gen and the current consoles Current-Gen.
As Andrew said naming the consoles by their actual generation would fix any confusion. No one was going crazy until you abruptly decided to tell people to stop changing common terminology.

This.
"Next-gen" is marketing trick anyway - it sounds good and it looks good on announcements/in trailers.

Who is going crazy? I don't really know what you mean by that.
My point is that we have people saying "current gen" meaning PS3/360 and you have people saying "current gen" meaning PS4 and XB1. The people saying the latter have arbitrarily chosen a day to switch things up whenever it felt right to them. Did you start calling it "current gen" the day the PS4 was released? Was it the North American release day or the the EU release day? Or did you wait for the XB1's release day? It just makes so much more since to stick with the terminology everybody is accustomed to using. The XB1 and PS4 needs to be called "next gen" until there is a new "next gen" to replace it.

Or as I said, using Gen 3 and Gen 4 - or the names of the platforms themselves - removes that ambiguity.
Wed Aug 27, 2014 10:44 am
I have never heard of that terminology before. I would think it would be Gen 7th and 8th. But yeah it seems that we do need something different.
Wed Aug 27, 2014 12:40 pm
Gen 3 and Gen 4 are the terms Sean O'Brien has used to describe the last two console generations. But like I said, if all else fails, 360/PS3 and PS4/X1 are pretty unambiguous as to which generation you're referring to.

ps3/360 is in no way current gen.
