please give me some suggestions on gamepads

Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

please give me some suggestions on gamepads

Postby wangster on Sun Aug 08, 2004 1:54 pm

Well, I have been a long-time Live fan on PC but I've always being a keyboard guy... well, I never bothered to try out any gamepads. But now, with the dunk contest, Freestyle Air, and everything, I feel I will be missing out on a lot if I don't get myself a gamepad for Live 2005 asap. And I just wanted to hear some suggestions from you gamepad gurus on which gamepad I should obtain to get the maximum enjoyment out of Live and also Madden. Thanks!

Anything but the logitech dual action. It's like throwing your money in the trash.

After that terrible experience I bought the Firestorm Dual power 3. It works great so far.

if you can get the ps2 controller adapter that would be my first suggestion. if not(i have yet to find one myself) i would have to suggest the nyko air flo for pc. i own this already(most resembles ps2 controller) and it works great. i never use the fan myself but others might like it also.

Thank you all for your suggestions :)

Well, it seems that the PS2 controller seems like a good option, but any info on where to get that adapter?

Go to Radio Shaq. Everyone I've talked to that has one said they just stopped there. Just ask for a PSX to USB adapter and they should have it. I currently use a dual shock from my old PS1 and it is GREAT! Just make sure WHATEVER you do DO NOT buy LOGITECH DUAL ACTION!

I have a PS2 controller converter too, but mine seems to have gone haywire. I've had it for about a year, no problems, but now that I've gotten a new computer, it has trouble recognizing the hardware. I'll probably just buy a new one, since they're usually less than 10 bucks.

I bought my USB adaptor on ebay Aus for like about 20 bucks with postage

I hope mine works, I haven't used it yet ( had it for like 2 months ) I'll get around to buying a PS2 controller when Live 05 is out and try it out

I reckon that'd be a plan

ebay or radio shack

all the same...

but all and all it's a personal preference i suppose

From what I've heard, it breaks down after a period of time. (That period not being very long.)

I just bought Saitek P3000, while I was actually looking for the firestorm but they don't seem to sell it down here. This one works perfect too though :D

Agreed with that, although mine has issues with the left analog stick now (after about a year).
Still, I could never play the game again without the two additional buttons on the bottom of the pad as this allows me many more button combinations than the standard PS2/Logitech setup with "just" the 4 buttons on the top and the 4 shoulder buttons.

For this price you could buy gamepad for PC and don't care about any adapters..

He asked for suggestions, I gave him one. I've had no problems with this adapter at all. If u/like me at the time I bought it-had a PS2 so it made sense.
