Grizzlies a no show except for Carter; Bulls win @ home.

If it wasn't for Vince (11-19, 30 points) we'd probably end up watching a blowout; the game was somehow close until the very end but the Grizzlies simply struggled to execute offensively. Chicago's young core of Deng, Gordon and Hinrich played excepionally well but also received noticeable help from the bench (Pargo, Pippen). Tracy McGrady scored 11 points and was quite a disappointment today.

Tracy McGrady erupts for 46 points in a blowout win.

T-Mac single-handedly dealt with the dynamic duo of Ray Allen & Rashard Lewis and proved critics wrong. DaJuan Wagner was great off the bench with 16 points; Vince Carter added 17 and Jason Williams noted 9 assists. Allen, Lewis & Ridnour combined for 50 points for the road team. The SuperSonics actually had a lot of 2nd chance PTS opportunities but they pretty much lacked a skilled center/power forward to finish around the basket.

MEMPHIS -- With 12 regular season games left, the Grizzlies remain strong and keep on finding their ways to victory. However, when it comes to Playoff seedings, they would rather avoid playing the Spurs in the 1st round - a relatively tough matchup for every team in this league. Stay tuned.

Grizzlies top Bucks on the road.

Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter led the team scoring 25 & 23 points respectively. Milwaukee's zone defence seemed to be very effective from the start but the Grizzlies managed to adjust and outscore the Bucks at last. Michael Redd noted 23 points for the home team. Lorenzen Wright grabbed 13 rebounds while Jason Williams added 9 assists. Brian Cardinal contributed off the bench with 10 points & 6 rebounds.

Grizzlies use 12-0 run and beat Nuggets at home.

With a shift to a higher gear in the mid-4th quarter, the Grizzlies had no trouble finishing the game on top. Vince Carter led the team with 21 points, while Tracy McGrady and Stromile Swift scored 17 & 14 points respectively. Lorenzen Wright ruled the glass with 17 rebounds. Carmelo was cold (4-14, 9 points) and Kenyon Martin was the only bright figure for the Nuggets with 11 & 10. Both teams struggled from beyond the arc.

Sweet win in a hostile environment: Vince Carter responded to constant boos from the crowd and Raptors' tough defence with a solid 19-points performance. T-Mac did step up for his cousin, scoring 28 points. The Grizzlies' bench was quite productive tonight with Posey, Cardinal & Wilcox having decent games. Rafer Alston noted 26 points for the home team while Gasol finished with a double-double of 12 and 10.

Wade banks in a crazy jumper to win the game.

The Grizzlies struggled to execute offensively late in the 4th quarter, losing the ball twice due to 5 seconds violation. Dwyane Wade exploited the mismatch, isolated and abused Lorenzen Wright with a deadly shot. Carter scored a game-high 24 points. James Posey was once again decent coming off the bench. Shaq finished with 16 points & 6 rebounds and Damon Jones added 19 for the road team.

Grizzlies sneak in, take Game 1.

Some crucial mistakes made by the Mavericks in the final minute led to a corner 3-point dagger by Vince Carter; Jason Williams sealed the game at the free throw line. Wright, McGrady and Williams each scored 16 points. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 21 & 6 while Michael Finley added 20 points. Dampier and Stackhouse have recovered from their injuries and will be ready for Game 2 -- a bad news for the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies stun Mavs, take a commanding lead.

Jerry Stackhouse was quite a difference maker today but didn't receive much help except for Finley (26 points). T-Mac carried the team with 25; Carter added 17 while Jason Williams noted 10 points & 8 assists. Bench production was the ultimate difference between both teams and significantly helped the Grizzlies to win the game. There's also no other backcourt in the league that can finish around the basket // fast break like Tracy and Vince do.

Not a huge fan of Westbrook but good luck anyways. Markel looks like a solid prospect.

Yeah I wanted to see what I could make of him away from the shadow of Durant. Trying to mold the roster around him as quickly as possible. Thanks for the comment. I was very close to selecting the Grizzlies for this story, mostly inspired by your story! Very good, love T-Mac and Vinsanity!

Grizzlies secure home court, win a low scoring one.

With Carter and McGrady being heavily guarded throughout the game, Jason Williams was the true leader tonight. All of J-Will's 13 points were big shots that created offensive momentum. Stromile Swift turns out to be the X-factor in this series; his energy and high intensity on the defensive end caused Dirk to have a lot of trouble. Michael Finley scored a game-high 21 points, Jason Terry added 17. T-Mac noted 19 for the home team.

The Grizzlies were desperate for such an offensive boost. VC was in the zone, carrying the team with 39 points, 4 assists & 4 blocks. McGrady added 23 points and Lorenzen Wright was great in the paint with 16 & 7. Monty Williams was given some minutes in the 2nd lineup replacing rookie Andre Emmett, who couldn't handle such kind of a Playoff pressure. Tony Parker noted 19 points for the road team.
