Yeah. He said that he wants to know what it feels like to be a free agent. Now that he does, he'll sign happily with with the Knicks to a MAX-max contract.

Anthony was the toast of Chicago for a day, his appearance for a meeting at the Bulls' arena captured by a swarm of local TV cameras as he walked past the revered Michael Jordan statue Tuesday at United Center.

Large images of him in a No. 7 Bulls jersey ran the length of the arena, and, later in the day, fans waited for him to finish dinner at the luxurious Peninsula hotel.

Houston, for its part, tried a similar salute that included large electronic images of Anthony wearing a No. 7 Rockets jersey outside its arena Wednesday when he visited. One problem: The number belongs to Rockets guard Jeremy Lin, who is under contract for one more season.

Lin responded on Twitter by referencing a biblical verse: "Luke 6:29 — If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them."

lol Rockets.

I got news for Lin - that philosophy he adheres to is for suckers.

As for Carmelo, I will be royally ticked if Phil brings him back at max money. How the hell is he going to sign another top player?

Boris Diaw stays with the Spurs with a three-year deal.

Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger have committed to the Heat. McBob will take the whole MLE for four years while Granger have taken a two-year deal worth $4.2M.

Ennis looks like a Ok prospect but playing good in Aussie League doesn't say much. He was an un-matchable athlete in Australia and took full advantage of it but in NBA, he's average athlete with skinny frame. Seeing him in summer league, my expectation isn't too high. James Jones would still be a better option if kept.

EDIT:
Mike Miller: Joins The Cavs.

Not really. Athleticism only gets you so far in the international game, and he didn't have the handle to use it to create his own shot. He spent much of the early part of the year careening into help defenders, having expected to be able to get by/over people much easier than was actually the case.

I'd expect him to have more of an impact defensively than offensively. There seems to be a bit more effort expended on that end of the floor in the NBL (Sam Young's debut consisted largely of him turning the ball over and getting his shot blocked, and just generally looking completely incompetent), and the Wildcats in particular have built themselves off tough defense over the past four or five years. At the other end of the floor, he doesn't really have the ball-handling skills to get by guys, and his shot release is way too slow to be effective in the NBA.

Good to know, and to hear about him from someone knows about the Aussie league.

Also good to hear that he has a defense potential at NBA level. But the Heat needs him to be more than that. 21.2ppg avg, how did he do this btw? I knew he has a loose handle and shouldn't dribble nor try to be a playmaker, so I thought it was his athleticism that got him that scoring avg (outrunning everyone else, jumping over people, shooting ofc).

Anyway I was hoping he'd become at least somewhat of a scoring force(2nd or 3rd tier option for Heat) in any way possible. Do you think he can do this and become a rotational player? Preferably at SG position, how do you think he'll do for the Heat?

He got a lot of points off defense, both his own and others, allowing him to get out on the break. They also had enough offensive options that he was able to get spot-up threes off defensive rotation. It's unlikely he'll do as well with that in the NBA, with the defense likely to recover quicker and contest better. He developed a pretty good stepback jumper towards the end of his time here, but I don't know that he'll have as much success with that in the NBA either.

Outside of that, once he'd adjusted to the way defense is played internationally, he became fairly good at getting to the rim off ball reversals with the defense trying to recover, since he wasn't actually having to go around anyone.

He was never really the primary option, even though he was usually the leading scorer. If Perth hadn't had as good a team as they did, I don't think he would've had nearly as much success. If he can work on his handle and speed up his shot release, he should do okay if he's not the first option.

Not really sure how a SG and a SF differ in the NBA, so I can't really comment there. In the NBL, you need two ball-handlers on the floor at all times as there's a lot of full-court pressure D, so he never played that position. I don't think that's as much of a concern in the NBA, though.

I fully expected him to be in the D-League this season, not the NBA proper; he didn't really seem ready from what I saw of him. The commentators had a bit of a discussion about it during the grand final, and they concluded basically the same thing.

Sounds like a shit addition to the Heat roster. It seems if he goes to the D-league, it will probably mean the Heat are doing just fine. But I think the Heat are in position to play him because of undersized backcourt as Wade will regularly rest. Because combination of Cole / Chalmers/ Napier(looks so far like a non rotation guy) gives up too much size as a backcourt duo.

Maybe Jamario Moon clone? It looks to be that way if things go right. :|

Jamario Moon was a nice NBA player, he just came to the league eight years too late. (Probably because he came out for the draft after one year at a community college lol)

Yeah. For a bare minimum role player, he was pretty nice. He was extremely low end player with low ceiling but he somehow contributed nicely for a few seasons.

Born Ready signed with the Hornets

Lance Stephenson has signed a three-year, $27 million deal to play for the Charlotte Hornets, according to league sources.

The deal was signed early Wednesday morning after Hornets owner Michael Jordan, general manager Rich Cho and coach Steve Clifford met with Stephenson and his representatives Tuesday night in Las Vegas.

The contract, which includes a team option for the final season, ends Stephenson's productive yet volatile stay with the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers offered Stephenson a five-year, $44 million contract on July 1. But Stephenson, who led the league in triple-doubles, felt the offer undervalued him.

Indiana was unwilling to increase its offer.

Like many teams, the Hornets, while fans of Stephenson's play, had concerns about his antics and attitude. But sources say those concerns were alleviated in Tuesday's face-to-face meeting.

I wouldn't go that far. He came third in MVP voting in a league that made Patty Mills and Sam Young look absolutely atrocious. Put him in the right situation, and he should be able to produce decently. The combination of the defensive and off-ball skills and habits he would've picked up under Gleeson and his athleticism would be pretty rare, so there's even value in him merely being something the NBA hasn't seen much of. It might make him utterly useless, or he could slip through as something nobody's seen and therefore nobody knows how to deal with.

I'd imagine the Heat would know better than I would, particularly since he's had an off-season since he was here. You're not going to change your shot release mid-season, for example.
