The Big Four in Miami?

I could see this happening if Carmelo is willing to take that pay cut. He said he wants to win - that leaves out the Knicks.

Yeah, LeBron needs more help. One can only hope that if this happen, it falls apart a la the 12-13 Lakers. I personally doubt they get Melo without letting Bosh go but it certainly would make the NBA a mockery.

It still seems unlikely that all four players, still at the height of their earning power, would take the necessary paycuts to make that happen. I guess you can never say never, but as I said in the Finals thread, it seems like far-fetched speculation...at least for now.

Everyone's ignoring the real story here. Signing Melo is just a plan to get Darko to join and have all top five picks of 2003 together.

if it happens they need to get him just for that reason alone.

I can attest that benji predicted this months ago.

Getting Carmelo is fair, but getting Darko? The league will surely block it for "basketball reasons".

One player that's available that I want to see teamed up with LBJ is Kevin Love. Melo's just a bad fit and is overrated. He is not even 2010 Wade good. Was never, period. But Kevin Love is a stellar player that's in prime. If LBJ is any smart, he should know he should be recruiting him or plan to team up with him somewhere. Synergy will be off the chart.

I read this requires a lot of preplanning and borderline tampering for this to happen. Also, the big 3 needs to all opt out of their contracts and sign new ones. I tihnk the likeliness of that happening isn't very high so I think the only way for Melo to join them is by swallowing his pride, pulling a Karl Malone, and signing for the minimum since the Heat are over the cap.

...which seems a little unlikely, at this point in his career. Never say never, but I'd suggest it's far from a certainty.

I think LeBron should just go back to Cleveland. At this point Irving will be a better complement to him than Wade and if they draft Embiid they will be a good team.

Agreed. Irving soon is going to be better than Wade who needs a week rest for every single game played. And he's only 22. Embiid is probably already a better big than Bosh who wants desperately to be cheap version of Dirk and Robert Horry.

why not just take melo and love? maybe we can find another point for miami also?

seriously though i agree that adding love over melo would be good. as much as miami fans probably hate to hear it finding a wade replacement (he can come off bench) should be a priority. they cant keep putting so much stock in him only to have him break down

diehard miami heat fan here, but i really doubt the melo thing would be good for both the heat and the league. even if the great pat riley can pull it off, how r they going to run the lineup, unless lebron plays point. if melo goes to the heat, then the league failed miserably in preventing super teams with all the cap space and everything.

i personally think the what should get a solid point guard or a solid center. as seen in these finals, chalmers is LOST....

lol kids.
LeBron can play point. He has been in his entire career. Point guard point forward it doesn't matter, LeBron can play the point. Heat would need a shooter at guard or forward for the starting lineup or even a decent C.
C Bosh/big/Bosh
PF Melo/Bosh/Melo
SF James/Melo/shooter
SG Wade
PG shooter/James/James

Then again there's still the problem of a dependable bench if that happens, something the Spurs have been exploiting out of the Heat in the Finals and of which Pat Riley seems to be oblivious to since instead of getting dependable role players he wants another all-star.

Riley may want to take a look on the Heat's roster in the Lebron mode on 2k14.

i know he would, thats his ego working against him. same with KG. both of them would play better and better help their teams if they took a 6th man role

I am all for Wade coming off the bench and winning the 6th man award for rest of his career. I think that'd work out real good as a spark off the bench while maintaining his health issues. It's a sad fact that 40 year old Ray Allen is more durable than Wade.

Only problem is his 20 mil salary per season. It's a cap space and flexibility burden for the bench player with limitation.

Sure, you're up to Wade being a 6th man but is he up to that as well? I dont think so. Wade may look like shit this time but I'm sure he'll come back soon and play like a true all-star, not a goddamn Oden-wanna-be
