firefox is great and all but theres one (very) little bug.
if you use MSN, the "view-my-hotmail-inbox-feature" dont work.
you gotta use IE for that. i may be wrong about this...

You are right, nothin, it does open in IE.
... But there is a MSN Plus plugin that allows you to set it to open in your default browser. Get msn plus at www.mess.be , and for the plugin to a websearch for "stuffplug" (it also allows you custom size msn pics, and custom emoticon and display pic stealer!)

Does any of these browsers automatically block those annoying download thingies for spyware like GATOR? I HATE those especially when they force themselves to the front while being blocked, causing IE to crash.

Jules Asner
Any info on those browsers, people?
EDIT: I'm using Firefox now, it's pretty good, I think I'll use it at home as well. One question: It's not opening links in a tab but in an entire new window, even though I have the option selected to open links in a tab. What else can I do to achieve this?
Tue Aug 03, 2004 11:47 pm
Right click on the link and chose "open link in a new tab"
Tue Aug 03, 2004 11:57 pm
That means two clicks.. I want it to be my standard setting. I do have an extension now that opens most links in a tab instead of a new window
Wed Aug 04, 2004 12:02 am
Oh, I kinda suspected that

.
Well in that case I dunno
AlexBoom or
Tuomas probably know.

naah, I have enough time for the two-click method
Wed Aug 04, 2004 2:44 am
ctrl-clicking a link opens it in a new tab. shift-click it and it opens in a new window.

I just downloaded the newest Mozilla Firefox and I am now using it frequently
BTW, I like it a lot.

In Opera I know you can have middle click shortcuts and set the middle mouse button to whatever you want. I have it set to open link in a new tab.

Wed Aug 04, 2004 2:31 pm
yeah that part sucks

I mostly use Firefox. However, some sites, like a previous poster mentioned are designed only for IE, so I use IE sometimes.
Want to know why IE sucks?
Link
MS' MSN!
I used to have a cnet link to tests done for Netscape, Phoenix (at the time, now Firefox), and IE regarding loading times and IE was always last.

WRONG!

to open a page in a new tab, just click on the link with the middble button or the scroller (the thing on the middle on your mouse that rolls and enables you to scroll a page, well i don't know the exact english word), no need of 2 clicks
Mon Aug 16, 2004 9:43 pm
I've installed an extension that forces links into a new tab, so it's all good now
Mon Aug 16, 2004 10:16 pm
uh, but is it necessary for all of the links you click on?

cause sometimes you just need to go straight to a page, no need to open it in a new tab.
but never mind if you found peace with your browser

(only if it's Firefox

)
