So...does this mean we're going to see honeydips during regular gameplay?

Haha well it isn't very likely, but Ronnie didn't specifize that these dunks are going to be available for the dunk contest only, so yeah, anything's possible! It would be pretty cool to do that while posterizing someone in My Career

And get 4 points for the extra dunk while hanging on the rim? I think that dunk shall remain in the contest.

so more of the same shit of heavy animations? yes pretty dunks but all predetermined and lack of control yay for no innovation.

Yeah, it looks like that the dunks are going to be the same, but I really hope that they're going to change the dunk contest control system and the dunk scores. I really hate the guitar hero system, it makes it almost impossible to win...

Yep, that is the most likely alternative. But I'm really curious, is a honey dip actually allowed during a regular game?

Assisted dunks in the dunk contest, perhaps?

Definitely, and I must admit that I really like what they're trying to do. The dunk contest in the previous installments looked very artificial and "plastic". The movements were really awkward.
