Dont waste your money on a FX5200, its useless, only good for tetris. TI4200 is a DX8 card, no good with any current games(but not a bad card back in the day). With your CPU i would look at ATI 9600 series, they come in all different shapes, sizes and prices, you will be much better off with this card. I dont think you need to go as far as an XT, i would look at the Pro & All In One models. The 9600 has to be one of the most reproduced cards in history, there are over 120 different models

edit Let me just point out that any benchmarks you see are normally tested on high end system(P4 3.4ghz). So you can use these as a rough guideline, but i wouldnt rely on them to much due to your P4 1.6 GHZ!

Yup, its a Geforce 4MX with a few tiny upgrades. For example the games that you listed will never play maxed out on this card(FX5200). Look around for 9600, you will find one to fit your budget! The FX series basicaly sucks ass, the only performers are the high end 5900+ and the prices are barmey. The "FX 5950+-X Ultra Special Super Tweaked OC super special version thing" is wait for it..........................£375. Er still, as i type in the shops right now with that price attached to it

The ATI drivers are not that Bad, i know alot of people complain about them but i have had almost NO problems at all. When i installed 9800pro on my big system it sorted out alot of issues i was having with my TI4800.
I always had Nvidia, but now im converted, although Nvidia are kicking as with there 6800, its th price that the problem there though!
BTW i sold my TI4800 about a month ago for £40(cost £200 8 month ago), its shame, i could have sold you this card!

Well, to attract attention away from Homer, I will post what this thread is about: Graphics Cards. I too am in need of a new one so that I may play Live 2005. I am looking for suggestions of an affordable, high performance one. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. (Y)
