Which Rosters Are Better?

Postby Steve04 on Fri Jul 23, 2004 11:04 am

NBA Live Series Central, or, NBA Live.Org?

I'm asking this gamer to gamer, as I just purchased Live 04 and would like realistic updated rosters. I already know about adjusting the sliders and all that. I just want some opinions. And please, no Live.org or NLSC fanboys/girls who are just going to shout GET THIS ITS BETTER ORG OR NLSC SUCKS!!

I don't want that. I want legit opinions expressed in a mature manner. Thanks.

i've never tried .org ... but the NLSC one is pretty good. It's accurate (mostly).

Try out both, see which one is to your liking. Both are good...arguments for both, with no offense intended towards either side

.Org Pros:
- More accurate specific ratings, not necessarily overall, but key things like FG, strength, quickness, etc that are significantly better than NLSC
- Utilizes the 0-100 system a lot more than NLSC's do
- Greater variety ratings, NLSC has a lot clumped in 60's, some in 70s, hardly any in 80s, and more in 90s

Cons:
- A lot of the lowering of ratings hasn't been done and sometimes they're lowered too much, it just seems like there were some inconsistencies
- By having more low ratings for players (basically utilizing more of the 0-50 range), it does sometimes create too much disparaty

NLSC Pros:
- More accurate overall ratings
- Personally, I prefer having ratings in the range from 50-100 for this game

Cons:
- Inaccurate specific ratings
- Again, a lot of players are in the 60s, some in the 70s, very few in the 80s, decent # in the 90s

.org IMO.
Ratings rerated for every player based on EA's system and a lot of classic teams.

Nlsc is fine too.

I like both rosters, but I have to go with nbalive.org rosters because I never had any problems with the game using their rosters.

I don't think that's possible, you have to use one of the two files.

How would you use both? :?

i think it's possible.
the .org rosters take up the 000 save slot and the NLSC rosters use up 000, 001 and 002 i think.
first, install the .org rosters, rename the 000 folder to 003 or upwards and then install the NLSC rosters. i haven't tried it myself but it should work. :)

Well you could, install one, lets say .org creates 4 folders. So create 4 new franchises, but go into My Documents and delete those. Then paste each of the .org files (everything from 000 to 004, 001 to 005, etc) into the created franchise directories. Following? Then install NLSC's. Obviously, if one installs w/more directories, then install that one first (or install the other one, just leave enough empty directories for the bigger one so it won't overwrite).

The nbalive.org roster only takes up 1 roster slot. The 000 roster slot.
Andrew has different versions of his roster that take up several slots. 000, 001, 002 and 003 I think. Anyway I wouldn't recommend installing the NLSC roster after the nbalive.org roster. Even if you do save the 000 slot to another slot (say 004) installing the NLSC roster will overwright other stuff like the salleries and team set plays. So when you load the nbalive.org roster you wont be playing it in all it's glory.. you will be using half the NLSC roster and half the nbalive.org roster. The same in reverse if you install .org roster second and want to play with NLSC roster.

I have been playing with the nbalive.org roster v 2.1 which has the rookies etc.. I really enjoy it. Also Ben has just realeased some new slider setting which he says make the games even more realistic. I am just trying them out and so far they seem pretty good.. (Y)

There's 2.1? Last I can see on both the site and the forums is 2.0, sans rookies.
