Advice on fixing light problems?

Hey, I don't really want to reveal what I'm doing, so I'll just use a nice old pic of shiny malone.

He looks good there, but the flash of the cameras made a huge bright white spot on the top right of his head (his left our right). Now let's say that white spot was a part of the cyberface that I had to include (like part of the nose for example) can anyone give me advice on removing the light or making it darker? I tried magic wanding it and lowering the lightness, but the area was so white that it ended up simply turning grey...
