i dont care if they try to hand me a free copy of nba2k5 while i am trying to buy nba live 2005, i wont take it. every minute i would spend playing that crap game is 1 less minute i have to play good games. there are gonna be alot of games i really want coming out soon, and one of them that i am absolutly dieing for comes out really soon after nba live. that game happens to be GTA:SA. between that and nba live i wont have any time for a crappy bball game.

If it is better than Live 2005, Yes.
If it isn't, No.
If they get the same review at IGN, I will buy both.

Why IGN, IGN isn't even a fully sports game site, I would go by Operation Sports if I wanted ratings on a sports game.

I like the style of their reviews; they are in the style of (insert number here)/out of 10.
5 Things In Their Reviews:
-Presentation
-Graphics
-Sound
-Gameplay
-Lasting Appeal
Good way of doing it IMO. :applaud: (Y)

me too---i want reviews by video game people who are playing it for fun, rather then guys looking for it to be a perfect emulation of real life basketball. i can totally understand the other point of view, though. but--and i do love the NBA, it's practically my life--this is a video game to me. :)

No cuzz thats not a real general site.

I wouldn't really go for IGN too cuzz thats just a opinion.

GAMESPOT because its a group of plp deciding how good the game really is.

There is a http://sports.ign.com if anyone is unsure...they are strictly sports games and information...

The $20 dollars thing is a way for them to get more copies sold and HOPEFULLY get there sales up from last year. :P

Sat Jul 24, 2004 4:42 am

I was watching the vid on IGN for ESPN NBA and it is some horse shit. ESPN copied the same double team animations from NBA Live. Then Barbosa did a double pump reverse slam... :lame:

Sat Jul 24, 2004 5:25 am

Yeah, just like the crappy knockoff of the freestyle stick

Sat Jul 24, 2004 6:36 am

yeah the 20$ price tag is to try and keep thier sales numbers(units not $) the same or better than nba live. i think they will still fail. imo the 20 bucks spent on that game is a waste of money and better spent elsewhere. hell toss it in the bank and leave it for a year and you will already be more than halfway to getting live 2006 :D

Well I will just tell my bro to go to blockbuster where he know mostly everyone that works there and he can like rent ESPN and take nba live too...He would put nba live at the bottom of the case and put ESPN on top so its still like he got 1 game  and ill just keep the nba live and buy espn later on :P

Oh, you cheap bastard!

Sat Jul 24, 2004 9:16 am

I might get it since the price is so cheap. Since I'm gettin NFL 2k5 today.

Sat Jul 24, 2004 10:39 am

Nopes, I don't think so.

So what if it's $20? It's money I can use to buy something else. One basketball is more than sufficient for me, even if it's not "The Best".

I'll make do with whatever I have.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 6:35 pm

When they get it down the video shop I'll hire it and put it on the hard drive, all for $6!

Mon Jul 26, 2004 11:09 am

lol Jackal said: So what if its $20, thats money i can use to buy something else......or he said sumtin like that

Tue Jul 27, 2004 1:27 pm

After it showed a second view i think there was 3 Redsox on top of one of the Yankees

Tue Jul 27, 2004 1:59 pm

I bought ESPN Basketball last year and it sucked. Unless they show some major improvement this year, it's not worth my $20.

Tue Jul 27, 2004 8:07 pm

I'm gettin both since ESPN is 20 bucks, but if it were $50 I'll just stick with NBA Live since I felt like EA finally was going in the right direction. ESPN might still have those crappy dunks, but everything else looks spot on if you ask me. (I havent seen the post game, but VC said they were working on it)

Anyone else remember the golden days of NBA2k2?
I am a Live fan first and foremost, but back in the day, that game was awesome. I feel that ever since that release VC has gotten lost. Since then, there is no post moves, the gameplay makes you feel distant and out of control, lack of defense, and just an overal lack fun. If ESPN2k5 can head back to its roots and show some improvements then it's landed my 20 bucks, otherwise EA will once again land my 50.
