Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I'm new here and wasn't really sure where I should put this topic/question. I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times before me. Anyway, I see that people are able to take screenshots of their in-game NBA live or 2k games and was wondering what program for a Windows 7 based computer you would need in order to do that. I looked up video capture hardware but before going ahead and spending the money I wanted to know what people have used for the XBOX 360 and found effective. I would like HDMI quality pictures as well.

If you mean PC NBA Live/2K games, most of us use Fraps or a free alternative to it.
If you mean PS360 versions of the games, a capture device was used, I personally used
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6815100097 with component cables
If you mean PS4/Xbox One versions of 2K14 and Live 14, the consoles have built in screen capture capabilities for videos and screenshots.

I have one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-Pl ... B00840353WIt supports HDMI IN for the 360 if "HDMI quality pictures" is what you want.

Good looks. That is exactly what I'm looking for in my price range. For external hard drive purposes either thumb flash or whatever how many GB's will I need for approximately 4 hrs of recording lets say.

30 minutes at 720p gave me a 2.6gig mp4 file.
So for 4 hours, you are looking ~21gigs. I used a 32gig USB flash drive.
You can get an idea of the video quality I got (after additional editing/rendering and YouTube compression) through here
