Change Game Default Sliders (HoS Research, Help Needed)

Big Thanks to juslovemusic for mapping all these out!

With this HoS profile, the first 126 values are for the default sliders, 127-252 are casual sliders (used for Blacktop too), 253-378 are Simulation sliders, and 379 on are the simulation sliders a second time. Values are in pairs, first the user value, then the CPU value. The order of these pairs were mapped out by juslovemusic and shown below.

This is one of those cases where I found something, it could be helpful, but I just do not have the time to complete it because the end result does not benefit me at all.

The tunedata.iff stores the game's default sliders, as in the slider sets that show up when you select default/casual/simulation sliders. If you were to change the slider set for the game's default sliders, this transfers over to the other modes (yes, including MyCAREER). I tested this by turning everything to 100 and playing a crazy MC Rookie Showcase game.

Now, again,I don't care about sliders enough to finish this off, but if someone figures out what each value changes, I wouldn't mind creating a better HoS profile for you all. I just don't want to do the grunt work of figuring out each value, especially since they are not in any kind of order (except they are split between default/sim/casual).

So anyway, here is what you need to do.

Download Hex on Steroids if you haven't already, and run it at least once.

Download this (must be logged in) and put the Sliders folder in your Documents/Hex On Steroids/Profiles/ folder

Open HoS again, goto Profiles, Profile List, Sliders, All In One. Then load a decompressed (use 2Kx Mod Tool if need be) tunedata.iff. A bunch of decimals should show up in a single column.

Change some stuff, find your change in game, and let me know which row does what. Unfortunately, you need to restart the entire game each time you make a change in the file to reload it. And you will need to cycle between casual/default/simulation for the new changes to show up.

I've tracked up to 110 which seems to be most of the default settings. After 35, I'm making the assumption that each following address is the CPU equivalent, considering that seems to be a solid pattern. '???'s are ones that when changed to multiple different values had no discernible effect on the default slider, so if someone wants to check those out, feel free.

Started from the bottom... I wont continue the saying but I did find the simulation sliders. First off 424 and on don't seem to be attributed to game sliders.
Here are the simulation sliders I found. The "empty" spots following "user" sliders are "cpu" sliders for the same setting. I skipped out on the fouls because I didn't personally need them and it's after 5am now. They're located somewhere in the 200's but you can probably find them quickly by searching the gap in-between my lowest and highest. Assign .01, .02, .03, .04 etc to a large batch of the unknowns to find them quickly in game. Took me under 2 hours to find and log these.

Do any of these values in the tunedata file correspond to the shooting type and free throw shooting type gameplay options? Trying to get the default set to real player % but so far i haven't had any luck.

I left everything at vanilla sim settings for HoF but lowered consistency on both sides to taste. Plays better than any slider set I've used last year, mainly because the new animations/physics eliminate a lot of the cheese. Consistency seemed to eliminate every cpu player shooting like Kobe. I'll be happy to see what you come up with. I'm a huge fan of low scoring bulls-like (defensive-minded) games.

Just a question, the user changes affect the user team for "My Carrer" mode ? Or CPU affects my teammates ?

hey guys, i backed up my default tunedata.iff before I pasted Skidrow's modified tunedata.iff but now I can't get back the default settings. This tunedata.iff ruined my experience with mycareer as everything is so easy and the CPU is just dumb. Ive already finished a season with mycareer playing legit. I only tried this tunedata.iff so that I could modify the sliders to be more realistic, but it did everything for me. If someone could please help me get back the default settings it would be GREATLY appreciated, as I dont want to start a whole nother mycareer. I also tried repairing my NBA 2k14 hoping it would fix my tunedata.iff but no luck either. I downloaded a supposedly untouched tunedata.iff and still no good either . Thanks guys.

make a backup then delete your tunedata.iff file. Verify cache through steam or repair with whichever version of the installer you have. The missing tunedata.iff file will be replaced with the vanilla one. Always make backups of your untouched files before you change them.

Only miss the Default Tendencys Sliders

you should be able to restore the original tunedata settings if you go into your 2k14 saves folder and delete the settings file, and then restart the game

this is editing the file that the game references for "default" sliders. This is why we backup before editing right people?
