Talk about NBA 2K14 here.

Hey guys, do you think the file structures of NBA2K14 Cyberfaces will be the same or will they change it again? From the 2k14 pc previews, I personally think it will be the same or maybe just a little change. Hopefully so, we can convert Cyberfaces from the previous years to use in 2k14 and all the previous tools work.
So which cyberfaces do you think should we convert first? I'd be willing to do them in bunches.

There's a pretty good chance that they'll be the same, given that NBA 2K14 current gen is looking a lot like NBA 2K13. Hopefully we'll be able to get an early start on modding again this year, I guess we'll find out in a little over a month.

Imho 2k14 is just a big gameplay update...I'm confident that most of the 2k13 will work on 2k14...just my 2 cents

looks like a minor gameplay update, still an update, but minor

Well, it's still a big gameplay update in a sense that not usually do you see a minor gameplay updates being released as a download and retail and being called a new game with the price tag of a full game

So it's a big thing for an update

A common criticism of yearly sports titles is that they are just that, especially towards the end of a console generation.

Except for PES, I think FIFA & 2K modders won't have any difficulties with adapting to the 2014 game.

You can tell by looking at lebrons face that they did not change a thing, lebron looks exactly the same other than they lifted
his headband to the correct spot

Exactly what I was going to say.
Particularly the mid-00's NBA Live releases!

Yeah most of the faces shown so far look exactly the same, hopefully they didn't change any of the file structures so we don't even have to convert, especially when it comes to Reditor-related stuff like Rosters, just plain copy-pasting of the required files, that would be ideal.
By the way if there are any PS3 players here, I'm also grabbing 2K13 for PS3 this year, and as usual I'll probably be creating a draft class or two.

In terms of full roster mods it'll be huge if we don't have to convert the files.
For those of us who have used/worked on retro mods or things like the FIBA mod, it'll be one less pain in the ass to hold up the release of customised mods like these.
Means we can spend our modding time/patience on making new faces instead of converting old ones. Lets face it, it's much more fun to make a new CF than convert a ton of old ones.

I am pretty sure with the new gameplay that will mess everything up and unfortunate make vl@d redo reditor that's how it usually work out wouldn't get your hopes up

Yeah probably wishful thinking on my part. It'd give us all a huge jump on the modding for the year, but it normally turns out the way you said.

In PES, it was like that. Guys could just use the same bin files for 12 & 13. But I don't it will be like that in 2K. They are constantly changing the little things here and there.

And what if we're not?

Then mods will start coming out later, after we've figured everything out.

I gotta say, I'm absolutely stoked that they've put the Euroleague teams in. Not only is it good to have the top teams from other leagues, but from a modder's perspective there are literally DOZENS more players that we can use as bases for cyberface creation whether it be using their headshapes or even just some new hairstyles (check out some of the funky ones like Daniel Hackett).
It's also great for the FIBA mod if eda goes ahead with it, as there are a large number of national team players throughout Europe.
(Plus as an Aussie I'm pleased to see Jawai back in 2K, as well as having Joe Ingles there to use as well!)
