Nuggets sign J.J. Hickson, three years for $15 million

The Denver Nuggets have reached agreement on a three-year, $15 million deal with free agent J.J. Hickson, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Now these are starting to get tough. But I think part of his performance last year probably warrants it.

With some bigs getting 8-11 million, this is a steal for the Nuggets. Not to mention Zaza got the same deal, sure the Bucks have lost their damn mind and all but still...

Great pick up for the Nuggets.

Edit: They've got a shit load of forwards now that I look at their roster though. Faried, Arthur, Chandler, Randolph & Hickson unless you consider him a C. That should be an interesting rotation.

It could prove to be a bit of a logjam but that gives them a respectable amount of depth at 4 and 5. It's not an outrageous contract, either. I'm still expecting that the Nuggets will take a step or two back this year, though.

I wouldn't have minded keeping him at that price, especially considering that hilarious Pachulia deal. Wouldn't be surprised to see him become Denver's starting center.

Didn't JJ Hickson have problem with his Blazers coach last season? I had him on my fantasy league team and it was somewhat frustrating(though he came as a steal in late draft) because of inconsistent minutes he was getting.

That being said, he has a great potential especially at age of 24 and if he can keep his head in the game. At $5 mil a season, he's a steal.

Remember that the Cavs were offering Hickson as the centerpiece for Amar'e when he was on his way out of Phoenix..... he has potential, he showed a bit last season averaging a double double playing center. I hoped the Suns signed him and then trade away some forwards

At 24, 5 millon per year is a good bargaing
