NBA 2K14 will include Euroleague Teams!

It would be nice that, if you chose to do so, in myplayer instead of playing the rookie showcase you start off in the Euroleague Final4

They should make a Euroleague tournament for those teams, and 16 teams are better than 14, while you can get Group E and F at least.

I got one question: 2K14 will still have the retro teams?

If 2K leaves that teams it'll open a gap for the Live to explore it IMO, looking to the nothorious sucess those squads made at 2K11, 12 and 13.

If they include the retro teams and also the teams from the D-League, that's going to be amazing.

This is very, very cool news! But, I'd bet 100 euros that Euroleague won't show up on PC.

Hmmm.. . I have to wait and see if there would be a way for me to enjoy it. Not a big Euro-league fan but we'll see.

Very cool. I'll admit I'm not as interested to play with Euroleague teams as some of the other folks around here, but they should be a popular addition and great for modding. Good stuff!

Will be awesome to have Euroleague teams in the game. As much as I'd love to have them in assoc/my player mode, I doubt that they'd be playable teams in those modes. I have a feeling that these with be quick play only teams. None the less, cool to have them.

If there's no specific mode for them, then I would suggest that they're indeed going to be primarily Quick Play only. It might be possible to swap them into Association or Season, but I wouldn't count on it as a definite and we probably won't know one way or another until we've got the game and give it a shot.

Geez, I'd rather have National Teams than Euroleague Teams. Crap.

I believe EA Sports still has the FIBA license, so that might not have been possible.

This is good news. But will the Classic Teams be retained?

Probably, though if certain players' deals expire and they can't renew them, we might see some more players dropped from the rosters.

Having a generic Euroleague competition running in Association mode like D-League is the best scenario at this point for me. About 4 matches could be held between two teams and after regular season there could be a top8 playoffs-like competition. We could get a unified FA pool and a salary cap smaller than that of the NBA should be put on European teams (maybe 30M max?). This way they could also import a Summer League in the association with undrafted players, FAs, D-leaguers and European non-Stars trying to earn a place in the NBA.

European teams have budgets. That's different than cap space.

I don't think Euroleague will be implemented into MC or Association in 2k14 except for maybe having all of the Euroleague players in FA Pool, but I hope that by expanding this in the future we could get 24 Euroleague teams in NBA 2k15 or 2k16 or whatever, so that you could play in Euroleague in MC or start something like a coaching/GM'ing career in Association by playing as some Euroleague team and then getting offers from NBA teams or vice-versa. I hope these 14 Euroleague teams are just the beginning

That's kind of how it was when EA got the FIBA license. There was a small taste of it with eight teams and a tournament mode in NBA Live 08, before expanding to 24 teams in NBA Live 09. Getting the license, getting the teams into the game and gauging interest and reactions is the first step.

Solid info there. It would also seem to confirm the return of classic teams, though it remains to be seen whether we've lost any more players due to expiring likeness rights.

Despite I was against at the beggining, all in all this is the NBA (!) 2K series, now I'm totally O.K. with this & I even think it's gonna be really good. Hope so.
