Well, money and sales do have to factor into the situation at some point. There is a business side of developing games after all and that involves decisions being made by people higher up in the company who are being employed to look at the bottom line and make financial decisions. That said, if all they cared about was money, they'd go ahead and release the game on every platform to try and get as many sales as possible, regardless of whether it could properly handle the tech and the product was any good or not.

This comment I'm making doesn't have anything to do with the thread topic, but the more I've learned, the more the phrase "money rules the world" irritates me. So let me enlighten anyone with that mentalilty. Money doesn't rule ANYTHING!! It has no real value, it has no techinical applications and it is a manufactured product. Money only holds the value WE place on it, or better put, the value we're manipulated to accept it's worth. This truth can be seen in inflation. As soon as we're told inflation has risen, and the dollar (or whatever currency) has been devalued, we accept it immediately that that specific currency is now worth less than it was last year, or six months ago. So when you say, "money rules the world", what you're really saying is the centralized world banks that MAKE the money rule the world. Money is not a natural, or finite resource. It is created by private corporations, and LOANED to countries, with interest, by those private corporations. If you want to know what really drives our world as of right now, it is technology. Technology improves our quality of life and what we are capable of innovating. And PEOPLE, coupled with intelligence, create technology. Honestly, money has deprived mankind as much, if not more, than it has assisted it. We can't even display how far we have advanced in certain fields, because the new innovations would lessen profits for established, powerful corporations. But those same corporations couldn't function without us, the common man, being both employees and consumers. So PEOPLE rule the world. And as soon as we recognize our own individual and collective power as human beings, we can stop being manipulated, constrained and corrupted by the monetary system we live in, and those that control it. Sorry for venting and getting all socially analytical, but when I reflect on the way humanity has been deceived for centuries now, it's hard for me to stay quiet when people express their indoctrinated, culturally implanted perspectives, which inevitably goes against their own best interest as well as the interest of the majority of humanity. Money is our master, if humanity (USA included) truly wants to be free, we have to stop complying with the masters. #wakeup.

Wow, my post has caused a "resonance" :D Why you so literally take this phrase? All I meant with "money rules the world", then what MS and Sony paid EA to make NBALIVE14 exclusive for next-gen concoles (saying that "Buy new consoles!!"). It's was my opinion, and I does not imposed it to anyone.
But also i agree with last Andrew post in this topic...

You're right on that! Throw a little more money around so they can force everyone to upgrade to new consoles to continue to have the games they desire, which will make them 10 times the extra money spent to make sure we have to buy the next gen consoles. Sorry I took your comment so literal, but knowing what I know, when I read or hear phrases like "Money rules the world" or "Money makes the world go around" it strikes a nerve. Because I know that money and debt are used to enslave the masses. Slavery has always been controlled by fear. When it was physical slavery, it was the fear of death or "torture". With our current economic slavery, it's the fear of survival and social isolation, which results in people compromising their beliefs, goals and integrity to survive. So I don't disagree at all with the point you were trying to make, but the way you worded, and the immediate response from werewolf914 afterwards, made feel like something needed to be said regarding how we are manipulated by the system, with money being the main tool.

@ Shadowgrin That was not a story, that's a fact! Research it for yourself. I think it's funny/sad, that most people never take the time to inquire about how their world operates, but instead just take the "stories" the media tells us as gospel. When it comes to truth and facts, there are 3 kinds of people. The ones that just go with the most popular and accepted perspective, and go on with their day-to-day life not thinking twice about it. Not realizing it effects their everyday life in more ways than they can imagine. Then there's the ones that assist in deceiving the masses, who are handsomely rewarded by "big brother" for doing so. And then you have the people who, and I'll use my own analogy here, "smell the liquor in the punch." Meaning they realize things aren't what they're depicted to be. Unfortunately the majority of the world's population falls into that first category, so when someone like me, who falls into that third category, tries to enlighten others, it's easily dismissed because it's outside the conformitive viewpoint we've been indoctrinated with since we've been capable of comprehension. So this isn't a story! If you want to know the truth, seek it. But if you want to go through life believing the world is flat, go ahead, but don't knock me for accepting it's not. I use that analogy because only a few hundred years ago saying the world was round was a "cool story."
