No one's perfect man, don't feel so bad about yourself, it's your first try at making something, ahh my advice to you is to use the (NBA)All lines except the 3 point line model included in the model stuff folder and remove the black lines in the paint that you have made, it will look so much better, just don't forget to use leftos hex on steroids tool to make the lines black.
I have no freakin idea how to use that tool , im just like monkey in new york city..lol
Well then it's for more advanced patchers, but oh well, you can check the other tutorials that Jaosming has to get used to.

Here is my progress so far R4zoR, everything looks pretty decent, except the lane and 3 pt line. The baseline text is a little blurry/distorted, but I think that is due to the dds size (1024x1024) It will not be crystal clear.
Give me any pointers man, I would love some criticism! LOL
Can you send me that file man, i'll fix that for you.

Well if you don't want to put them on the texture, then yes.

can you add a download link for the Ohio State court or send it to me? Thanks

also, I know a lot of guys are making the lines in the texture, I think it would look a lot better if didn't put the lines in the texture, and used Razor's base model with lines instead and hex edited it, that way you wouldn't have these choppy lines, just a thought

This is ideal, but two problems arose when I was attempting to do this for the UF court. How do in the world do I know how big to make the lighter shade of the court with no reference to where the 3 pt line is (since it is hex edited not in texture) and 2nd, I could not figure out how to color the top of the free throw orange without doing it in the texture but without reference to what size the key is, I could not get the orange to fit in right without hours of barely tweaking.
If anyone knows a workaround to those two problems, that is ideal.

no I would definitely do those in the texture, but just use the lines from the model, unless you can get a higher resolution, but it's tough because you have to make the lines tiny in the texture.

John, I mean, how in the world can I get a preview of those lines on the texture? It is hard to decide where to place the light wood or the orange free throw paint without any lines there? That make sense?

Yeah I got you, are you using Razors photoshop file with all the layers?

I used it for reference. I did not see any 3 point line thought that matches the model 3 point line, the NCAA 3 pt line in his psd is really short it seems (Cuts into my lanes)

Yeah, use the boise state multi-color as a reference, it is quite helpful

R4zoR, Do you know what controls the colors for the 3-Point line and the line in the paint for the Boise State court in the Hex On Steroids tool?

It's a great discovery but has a long way to go on the quality end. The old way quality wise is day and night but we'll see where the progress goes.

I get this message when I finished making a Kentucky court:
DDS: It appears your image may be a volume map,
but not all layers are the same size, thus a volume
map cannot be written.
And when I import, it says it isn't the same size or something but you can continue. But it becomes a bunch of coloured lines.
I don't know what I've did wrong. Do I have to merge layers? Did I have to replace the existing layers? I had generated mipmaps.
I watched the tutorial and listened very attentively. It might just be I'm a noob at modding.
