Isn't Telfair not a little bit to good!? In the game he's better than Stoudamire and there were a lot of rumours about him nit being good enough for the NBA game.

The contract is not signed, therefore he can still officially pull out of that deal, though I don't see it happening. He seems to be a good person, and it would be pretty crappy of him to just say "changed my mind".


On a separate note, I can't claim to know too much about this years rookies...but it seems to me the ratings are all a bit high, aren't they? Like I said, I'm not one to judge, just want to see if anyone who knows what they're talking about agrees with me

nah i think the ratings are fine overall.

First, I would like to thank you for this roster patch (and all the others before) . I have a lot of suggestions though, Andrew, so don't take it personally...I just want to make these better . I'll give an estimate for the ones I remember (usually its FG) and that's just what I feel, everyone is welcome to alter them.

UP - FG (about 76), 3 (70)

UP - 3 (should be 72ish)

UP - FG (74), 3 (68), quickness & speed (high 70s), darkness of skin

DOWN - 3 (64...this one is huge, he has the 3 pt logo but shot only 29% from 3's last year and only made 0.6 3's a game)

This I don't feel as sure about, and I'm on the fence about these. But a lot of guys with the 3 point logo (Cassell, Lue, Welsch) shot a good % (38, 39%) but only made 1 a game. My initial reaction was the 3 point rating should be lowered, but after thinking about it, it can go either way. But if you're interested, the names I found so far are aforementioned (Cassell, Lue, and Welsch), plus Sprewell and Wesley (yes, they are huge threats to hit the 3, but only at a 32/33% clip).

Kelvin Cato:
He's a center (listed as 4 last year because of Yao but did play a lot of 5 on defense even with Yao). Orlando is definitely playing him at center with their dearth true centers.

He retired from the Raptors.

On the subject of transactions, I prefer to wait until they are made official just in case the deal doesn't go through. Also, because teams can only have 15 players in NBA Live 2004 while in real life teams generally have more than 15 during the offseason, not all of the draft picks are on their teams yet. I'll be sure to sign them as soon as they sign in real life, releasing one of their team's free agents who likely won't return.

Shaun Livingston - Decrease overall rating, put speed and quickness down, decrease field goals.
Dwight Howard - Dunking to mid 70's.
Sebastien Telfair - Field goals, 64
J.R.Smith - FG: 68, 3P 72, DNK: 79

They could be shipping Big Z's 14.5 million dollar, expiring contract to a team like the Hawks (that could a) use him and b) always seems to like expiring contracts they never put to good use).

Don't want to insult you, but I think Smith's FG should be higher. Scouting reports say he "has one of the sweetest strokes off the catch in HS"...he's always raved about that and his dunking.

Gerald Wallace is a SG (secondary SF).
Tamar Slay, Bernad Robinson are SF (secondary SG).
Fizer is a PF (secondary SF).

Hawks:
Boris Diaw: Give his 3 pt rating somewhere in the 50s. I don't know how he has a 75 rating. He shot 23% and made 0.1 3 pg. Also, up his passing to somewhere in the low 60s, same with dribble. He's an all-around player minus a occasionally reliable jumper. Drop the FG to somewhere in the mid 60s as well.
Josh Smith: Much darker skin tone.
Oh one more thing , I think either Childress or Diaw should be a SG. I would say Childress since he's already been saying that's a 2.

Great roster Andrew, here are some suggestions :

You didn't changed Jason Hart skin color like I suggested in a previous version

As you can see, he's not dark black like you made it in the roster

Christian Drejer is more short haired

I suggest you increase a little Brian Cardinal ratings while you decrease Penny Hardaway a little

hmm.. you sure luke jackson had the highest vert in the draft? with guys like the smiths nd iguodala there? and i think jr smith's FG should be a little higher than that. nd the 3p a little lower than 72. nd the dunk a little higher than 79. sorry if it sounds like i'm criticizing, i'm just trying to be a help

Yeah suppose J.R.Smith's dunking could be a little higher hey, maybe Field Goals at 72 keep 3's how i said before.

Created rookies for aussie live online till we used our old rosters, and done around 25 or so.
Spent around 48 solid hours creating those to perfection, anyone is interested in the ratings I assigned PM me and will send them to you.

i think there are several players rated way too high overall
for the most part everything is pretty good though
all of the HS players are over rated (although i think howard only slightly so... like in dunks)
telfair a 65 is kind of insane for a guy who many are saying won't even be NBA ready for a minimum of a year
biedrins may actually be underrated all around... he's a good back to the basket player who is a solid defender and decent low post scorer
for the most part i think every rookie needs to go down 2 points overall.. i know the overall rating doesn't "do" anything, but obviously telfair isn't gonna come in and be as good as Dampier and Magloire
Livingston, another guy who won't be ready for the NBA immediately, not to mention full-time starting is rated = to Nene and Jalen Rose[/i]

no you're right, basically every rookie I've looked at is over-rated

if you're to compare their overall ratings to their peers...you'd think grossly so

could be easily fixed by decreasing offensive and defensive awareness ratings. Specially for the highschoolers

I mean, I know they haven't played a game yet, but if you're telling me livingston, telfair, devin harris, childress, etc... are even as good as gordan giricek at this point...you're dreaming. Iguodala already as good as bobby jackson?

I'm not trying to shit on andrew, I know how tough it is to do this stuff, plus he has the added pressure of people just begging him to release stuff

and having the rookies in itself is great...it's free, they're in the game...so not too much bitching from this side

just pointing out that the ratings for the rookies might be a bit overblown

He has a 36 inch vertical, but doesnt seem to show it much. It is not the highest in the draft, because JR Smith has a 44 inch vert, and I know there are other high jumpers in that group.

Also, raise Jamal Crawfords dunk to maybe 50-60, and Gordon to 75, because he is an outstanding leaper for just a 6'2" guy. I've seen him throw down a windmill.
