Get Ready For A Few Surprises.

Postby bkprince23 on Mon Jul 05, 2004 5:09 am

I know that we all want something in NBA Live 2005. But doesn't Live always surprise us at almost the last minute, I mean last year they kept things like the NBA store under wraps until the game was about finished. So just keep your hopes up for things like the Dunk Contest, and for me A HALF- TIME SHOW like ESPN Football ( guys you REALLY need to go to operation sports and check the movies out for X-Box wow. Really innovative). So just keep your eyes open guys.[/u]

asthetic surprises are nice but unless they surprise us with super-crazy-good AI or a non-bugged dynasty mode, its all moot for me.

I agree with Eon. Make the things we got now more solid, then add to the game.

Keeping high hopes for a dunk contest will probably just lead to greater disappointment. I do have fairly high hopes for Dynasty Mode based on the snippets we've been give so far.

Can't argue with that (Y)

But Ima not get my hopes up this year, it looks overdone from the latest screens- and until I see some dramatic changes or new features, I'm not gonna be surprised. Of course I'll still buy it!! :D

Gimme the 3 point comp back ahead of a dunk comp and the one on one.

It's not all marketing... I mean saving some big surprise to really get the saliva going. One thing that has slipped everyones minds here is that the late features etc. are the ones that only make or break the game in the last seconds of the process. I mean some features are cut because they can't get it done, while some remain in uncertainty until the very last minute.

I'd like to see more indepth dynasty, better AI (that possibly wouldn't have to cheat)... Half-time shows etc. are just bling-bling and I for one can certainly live without that! The problem with the bling-bling is that it is shiny and intresting for a while, but after a couple of times it gets repetative and boring.

The first Live games had half-time show videos... And how often did you look at them? Not nearly enough. Especially when they cut it to one video for all the teams at half time. Some bling-bling that I would like would be the commentary... I'd like to see the guys have more to say! But graphical additions are not needed. The game already looks fine.

I'd like to see them fix the general physics of the game and get the player movements right, I don't wanna get pushed back when a player starts his layup animation. For me, the one test that they got the game right is when one on one is played out properly. lateral movement is always much slower then forward movement, that is why defenders give fast players room, yet giving room in nba live is never necessary as the ball carrier is never able to get round the defender with pure speed.

The charge button should not be necessary i think. If the ball carrier is running into the stationary player, a charge should naturally happen or one of the players should hit the floor, not this bouncing crap. if the defender is still moving, then you call a blocking foul, simple...

The one half time animation i want to see return was the cheerleader one...that was good, i would watch that at every half time...if they can get a full half time video for each team that would be so nice...

that reminds me of another problem nba live has, and that is players catching up. if i start to run a fast break the computer players seem to have rockets in thier shoes and they catch me sometimes just as i hit the 3 point line and some how are instantly infront of me. now when the comp runs a break i dont run like speedy gonzalas on crack so why should they do it to me. fixing this would be a surprise as it seems to be this way in all ea games(madden, and nhl in my experience) and has been ever since i can remember.

so shock me EA and fix this lame crap.

I think the new "put back & tip-in technology" will make a difference this year....it will definitely add more realism if they can pull that off, as well as mid air adjusted jump shots- I like the looks of things already!

I do think there will be a surprise in NBA Live 2005. Most likely something like 2004's Historic Teams.

this is a problem forreal. It is very annoying and un-realistic. It's frustrating to go on a brake with vc, and the computer player zooms and bang, there's another fancy "in-air collision" and another missed opportunity that would been 2 points in Live 2003 and any other older one.

no ea sports titles will be 20 bucks, just espn 2k5, because they are tryin to outsell madden, so that game will be 20 bucks.
