How to add your own music in the game

First off, you need a program called Ditty Importer. It's created by the NHL team from EASports.

What this program does is that it allows people to add their own songs to the NHL series game. But the great thing about it is that it also works for other EA titles too, such as NBA Live.

The next step you have to do is to get an .mp3 format of the songs you want. I'm sure most of you know how to do that but I won't get involved with any illegal issues with downloading music. You're taking your own risk.

After you get the MP3's you want, use the Ditty Importer to convert the .mp3 files to .asf (music files which EA games use). Rename each .asf file to the following:

xsong1
xsong2
xsong3
etc..

After you've done all of that, place all the .asf files into your audio\music folder from the main NBA Live 2004 directory. The original EATrax songs are still in there so just be cautious before replacing them.

The filenames used in the 1-on-1 and practice modes are xmsong.

.asf files can reach up to 20MB depending on length of the song. Make sure you have a lot of disk space.

Note: Little Big Man has created a tutorial to change the title of the song in the game (that appears in EATrax).

I can't get the songs to stay at original size, they are now shortened what's going on...can you give a couple steps of how to use the ditty importer. I browsed to the song I wanted to convert, chose an output location and clicked import...that should be it right? Well the songs are dramatically short so I don't know what I did wrong...please help

im not sure what u did wrong either, theres nothing complicated about it...just mkae sure the songs are renamed correctly...xsong1,xsong2,etc.

I renamed them correctly...but it only plays like the first 10-15 seconds of the song is that how its supposed to be? Because the original music files would play for much longer than that So I don't know what's the deal...any other suggestions? It would be appreciated....

What are the 14 original songs, so I know what I'm overwriting..

i am going to need a dvd drive to do this patch'n, ryte?, cause wen i put my nba live 04 in my cd drive it doesn't pick up n e thing in da cd.

I converted the files using that programme and the files into the right folder but they do not appear in the game HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My problem is I got the files to appear in the game and they sound like a lot of noise.

Do I need to lower the bitrate of the mp3s before converting them?

joltaholic no nid to lower the bitrate... i tried many songs with different bit rates and they all worked fine

the music sounded distorted in the game because a step was left out. you import your mp3's into the 14 xsong.asf's, but THEN you also have to copy xsong1-14, paste them, and rename them xmsong1-14.

same as arden.. you mean all of the xsong from 1-23. i'll add .asf in the last?
