DALLAS ♦ Hello Mavs fans. This is your General Manager Donnie Nelson and today we begin our journey in a new season. After not getting Deron Williams and/or Dwight Howard we decided to sign multiple role players to 1 year deals. As of now our goal is to make the playoffs and enter the chase for ring on the back door. We, as organisation, are fully aware that Dirk has one or two years of scoring 20+ points while flirting with 50-40-90 club. So our goal is to sign as many good, young players who can improve so we have future after Dirk. We managed to sign combo guard O.J. Mayo who will be second scoring option behind Dirk. Roddy Beaubois is not fulfilling his potential but he is going to get more minutes as Vince Carter and Shawn Marion are getting up there in age. Anyway, today I wanted to present you our roster and brief scouting report of their abilities. So, let's begin.

     • Darren Collison • PG •

25 year old point guard is undersized for his position standing at barely 6' 0 but he makes up for that with his quick hands and great decision making. He has developed outside jumpshot and he is also good shot creator. One of the more athletic players on roster. He can defend most point guards.

    • Rodrigue Beaubois • PG •

6'2 24 year old point guard has decent length for point guard. He is one of more active players in passing lanes. Player with potential waiting to be fulfilled. He has decent outside jumpshot. Also a good defender. Can get hot in a second. Also one of more athletic players on roster. Expected to play combo guard behind Mayo and Darren.

    • Dominique Jones • PG/SG •

6'5 combo guard is adequate defender. No outside shot. Average handles and decision making. Expected to play in garbage time.

    • Mike James • PG •

37 year old veteran was brought in to the team to teach young guards ropes in the NBA. Will be used only as mentor.

    • O.J. Mayo • SG/PG •

O.J. Mayo is another combo guard with great outside shot. He can beat players of the dribble and finish in the lane. He is great shot creator and a deadeye shooter. Loves to spot up at corner . Adequate defender. Decent passer. All-star potential.

    • Vince Carter • SG •

35 year old high-flying veteran is still making highlight plays with his, still, amazing leaping ability. He has adjusted to wear and tear of NBA schedule and developed outside jumpshot. He has become deadeye shooter who is rarely bothered with hand in his face. He can still drive the lane. Not as good as defender due to lost athleticism. High IQ and great decision making.

    • Jared Cunningham • SG •

Another high-flying shooting guard. Only 21 years old. He has decent outside shot, but his real strength are backdoor cuts and fast break due to his athleticism. Good defender because he is so athletic.

    • Shawn Marion • SF •

34 year old Matrix is stil a lockdown defender. He has never had good outside shot. Great defender and still athletic as most 20 year olds. Great IQ. Can provide some chasedown blocks. Also known to strip the ball from opponent in shooting motion.

    • Jae Crowder • SF •

6'6 forward is pure hustle player. Doesn't have great outside shot, but can hit open three. Good defender for a rookie.

    • Dirk Nowitzki • PF •

Mavs legend is sharpshooting 7 footer. Already proven himself by winning Finals MVP 2 seasons ago against Heat. Clutch scorer. One of the best post players. Deadeye shooter. Has active hands because he can strip the ball from shooter. Most intelligent player on the roster. Never freezes.

    • Brandan Wright • PF/C •

Only defensive big man on the roster. Known for great blocks. Also has ability to put players on poster. Can hit long 2.

    • Elton Brand • PF •

33 year old power forward can put the ball in the basket in many ways. He is great post playmaker and known for offensive putbacks. Has good range for big man.

    • Chris Kaman • C •

30 year old center is supposed to start with Dirk. He sets hard picks . Decent, not good, defender. Has good range. Great post playmaker. Unatheltic but intelligent.

    • Bernard James • C •

6'10 center will play limited minutes for Mavericks. Good post defender and great rebounder.

That is short scouting report of all of our players on roster.

This is it for now. We have upcoming season opener against LA Lakers. Good luck Mavericks.

Rough start, it is the Lakers though. Overrated in 2K and have yet to fix anyone's overall.

SuperHueyNewton, Howard was just too much to handle.. Kobe.. OK, that's Kobe.. But Howard's athleticism was way too much for Kaman and Dirk.

DALLAS ♦ Hi Mavs fans, this is a little input on a roster change we've made. Rookie Center Bernard James was waived so we can sign a defensive stopper and play small ball until Dirk returns. We have signed Dominic McGuire on a 1 year $526k guaranteed contract. We brought some defense and hustle. He will have a debut against Lakers today. I hope you like our new roster addition. Good luck to Mavs in season opener.

Glad to see you win against the Lakers even though you lost to them before you started over. I hope to see more of Mayo though, he has loads of potential. Vince Carter still scoring double digits, Collison matching his career-high of 32 points. Pretty good start.

Flower Chick, they started to make a comeback but fortunately Mayo took over. Collison took over the game both defensively and offensively, career night for him. Vinsanity still has some hops.

SuperHueyNewton, thanks. I really didn't want to write a recap of season opener again so I decided to go with this. November recap is next (have to think of a recap style first).

DALLAS ♦ First month of NBA is behind us and our Mavs are not looking as good we got used to. Our players fought hard even without longlife Maverick and leader of a locker room Dirk Nowitzki. We are currently 6-10. At the beginning of a month we lost two games to Bobcats, 104-98, and to TrailBlazers 108-102. We beat Raptors 104-97 and then we went on a 5 game losing streak against Knicks, Bobcats again, Minnesota, Washington and Pacers. On 17th of November we beat Cavs by a game-winning three pointer by Vince Carter, who has been good this season scoring 11.6 points per game while still puting people on posters. Two days later we beat GSW by 6, 118-112. We then lost three in a row to Lakers, Knicks and 76ers. We beat Bulls sans Derick Rose 117-101.

Image

Most surprising player is O.J. Mayo who is putting up buckets in a big fashion. He is scoring 22.5 points per game while grabbing 4 rebounds. Kaman has also been serviceable scoring 12.3 points per game and 7.5 rebounds in only 27 minutes per game. 5 players are scoring in double digits. Marion is still active on the glass and is always flirting with double-double.

Image

Kevin Durant is again going for a scoring title. He is putting 29.4 points per game. He is followed by Kobe Bean Bryant who, at the age of 34, is still scoring in bunches with 29.2 points per game. Joakim Noah is snatching 13.1 rebounds per game. Another great rebounder is Tim Big Fundamental Duncan who, at the of 36, is still active on the glass pulling down 11.1 of them in limited minutes. Rajon Rondo is leading the league in assists with 9.7 of them. Greivis Vasquez of Hornets is second with exactly 9 of them per game. He's got my vote for MIP. Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez and Blake Griffin are leading the league in FG percentage, making 57 percent of their shots. D.J. Augustin is leading the league in FT percentage making 98 percent of freebies. Al-Farouq Aminu has quickest hands in the NBA making 3.2 steals per game. Larry Sanders is making a run for Defensive Player of the year with with 3.2 blocks per game.

Man your team is spreading the scoring pretty well. Looks like you are running a deep bench. Not a terrible record all considered, just got to stay afloat till Dirk's return!

Mark., 11 players deep. It's okay record. I wanna be around .410 when Dirk comes back so I can make a run at 8th seed. Three more months before Dirk comes back.

And until next recap, here's some image :D

Like the recap, and it seems to me the O.J. Mayo in this is just like Eric Gordon in mine... hmm.

Mark., yeah, that's what I meant.
SuperHueyNewton, thanks. Yeah, O.J. is killing it right now. Only Vince can score a lot of points besides him but I sometimes forget about Vince when he's on the court lol

DALLAS ♦ Happy New Year Mavs fans! Hope you had a great night last night. We wish you the very best in the following 2013 year. Since basketball never stops here is recap from December of last year. We are currently 15-16 and are 8th in our respective Conference. Without Dirk. In December we went 9-6. Our chemistry is getting better, it's almost perfect. We also got 4 trade offers for Shawn Marion , but all of them were rejected since he is our defensive anchor and our main guy to stop Kobe, LeBron and other perimeter superstars. We were offered Jordan Hill and Metta World Peace for Matrix and Mike James on 10th of December, two days later 76ers offered us Spencer Hawes and '13 1st round pick for Marion and '13 2nd round pick. 10 days later Nets offered underperforming Kris Humphries and '14 1st round pick for Matrix and '14 2nd round pick. One day after Christmas 76ers had another offer for us - Evan Turner and Nick Young for Darren Collison and Shawn Marion. We did however made a trade this morning because we didn't wanted to make Dahntay and Dominique Jones to sit on the bench. We talked to several GMs and finally agreed to sending them to Sacramento Kings for Fancisco Garcia and '13 2nd round pick. We get room for potential free agent signee and get aditional pick in the draft for a possible steal.

Image

Leading scorer in the league is 17 year old veteran Kobe 'Vino' Bryant with 30.4 points per game. Next to him is LeBron James with 28,7 ppg. Best Rebounder is Kevin Love with 13.1 rebounds per game. On that list Demarcus Cousins has 12.1 boards per game. Brandon Jennings and Greivis Vasquez have 9 assists per game. Blake Griffin is shooting the ball the best in league with 59 percent from the field. Jamaal Crawford cannot miss from the line with 96 percent made free throws. Monta Ellis and Paul George have fastest hands in the league with 2.8 steals per game each. 4 players have 2 blocks per game.

Image

Voting has started for All Star Game in Houston. For West Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul are leading Guards with 1.4 and 1 milion votes. Durant has same amount of votes as Kobe. And Timmy D, Big Fundamental, is leading all West Conference Centers in votes with 1.1 milion votes. Our Center Chris Kaman has 230 k votes with his 11.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game in only 26 minutes of playing time. For East only Dwyane Wade is cracking 1 milion votes of the Guards. LeBron James is leading all players in votes with 1.58 milion votes. Brook Lopez is leading all West Centers with 700 k votes.

Speculation for award have also started. Kobe Bryant is main candidate for MVP with his 30.4 points, 6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Damian Lillard is being unanimously selected for ROTY. He is averaging 18.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game. Sixth man of the Year award is likely going to New York, to Raymond Felton who is scoring 13.3 points per game and averaging 3.3 boards and 3.6 assists per game in only 21.5 minutes per game. Joakim Noah is most likely going to get Defensive Player of the Year award. He is averaging 12.2 rebounds per game, 2 blocks and 1.9 steals per game. And biggest surprise of this season is emerging play of Greivis Vasquez. He is filling the stats sheet with 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 9 assists per game. He is a lock for Most Improved Player award.

Image

On New Years Eve we have signed Darren Collison to 4 year 24.5 $ MIL contract. We believe he has will and skill we ask our players to have. He is great scorer when he is asked to, he can also dish the rock well. Altough he is undersized he is playing bigger than his size. We believe in him as our Point Guard of the future.

We hope to get in to the playoffs so we can repeat 2010/11 season. Happy holidays.
