Slam Dunk Contest??

Postby c_cryder15 on Thu Jul 01, 2004 1:58 pm

Is there gonna be a slam dunk contest and a 3 point shootout during the all star break or at all?

Neither has been listed as one of the features in NBA Live 2005. My guess is that they won't be in the game, though it would be a pleasant surprise if they are.

I think EA would have mentioned something by now, so I don't think they'll be in.

Well, the lack of control for dunking and 3pt shooting will be a drawback, and seriously limit the chance of of the dunk-contest OR the 3pt shootout. If they were to be included, they would also have to input more controls for the dunk and 3pt shot. Since most use controllers, there might have to be a special configuration for dunking in the dunk-contest, and shooting in the 3pt shootout. This might further confuse the user.

not if they do the freestyle air thing right and maybe use similar control schemes as the tony hawk series as was stated before and the 3pt shootout from the older lives were perfect IMO...

Well...if they had a 3pt shootout...theyd just need a shoot button and the player needs to have a 'perfect' release of the ball which could be incorporated into the game...if yall know wat i mean

nba live should for once, take a note outta the ESPN series, and get the dunk contest like ESPN has, and u just have to pick a dunk, and press a combination of buttons, to complete the dunk

Yeah ... and like the olympic games .... How's ESPN's dunk contest? You can't make all of these dunks in a game right? Not likely a player brings the ball between his legs and dunk backwards in a tight playoff game hehe ..

espn dunk contest is pretty good, but it sucks cuz, to me, the epsn, graphics are horrible, if NBA live had ESPN's dunk contest, it would be no contest, between the 2 titles
 :D

It was pretty hard for me but I am not good with pressing buttons very quickly. But if Live does a dunk contest, I would love to see how they approach it (Y)

i vote they spend less time on waste of time features like a dunk contest or 3 point contest and spend more time getting the actual gameplay right.

As Sauru mentioned...get the gameplay issues right..then work on the extra stuff..I like the sound of better post play as well...that should help towards getting those extras.
