in my country i don't understand how you can be a fan of two teams, in the soccer or the basketball leagues, but if it's a league of anothe country...for example, I always hate the Vancouver Grizzlies, but when Gasol went there... and now that we heard in Spain that Gasol maybe will be traded to the Lakers.... I hate them too, but I will be a Lakers fan if Gasol finishes there...

well i can understand where hillwoodballa is coming from, he liked mcgrady so he liked the magic? whats the big deal? reguardless of that he was right about ben gordon, he is the truth

I'm mostly a player fan but there are a couple of teams that I am always a fan of (hometown Raps, the Lakers). It's just a personal thing.
You know what I just thought of that EA needs to fix, desperately?
Air time.
That crappy ass dunk where you're on the floor and then dunking it without flexing your legs, like Martin is doing in one of the pictures, it looks terrible, too fast, etc. There's no glide to the dunks or some of the layups, etc. More air time is necessary.
Thu Jul 01, 2004 9:51 am
i guess i can see how some people are more fans of players than teams. just not my style.

i try to like a team, but the players make the team, and when that core player leaves, its like fuck em, but imma try to get the Bobcats to be my favorite team, or whichever team Kobe or Gordon lands on, for a long time.
Thu Jul 01, 2004 1:57 pm
jumpin on the bandwagon of another team because they got good players....... its not very loyal. you should stick to one team through the highs and the lows.
Thu Jul 01, 2004 3:19 pm
im not jumpin on the the bandwagon, im following a player i like, thats not band jumping, thats being true to ur favorite player(s).
Thu Jul 01, 2004 4:28 pm
I think we had a discussion on this before, I just follow my teams, win or lose, star players or scrubs, s'all good.
When your team has bad players or is doing bad, you set your goals low, like with the Raptors I was always hoping for Milt Palacio to dunk after I felt in my mind we were done.

That's a disappointing shot to me. Look at the other players! David Wesley, Mr Big Ears, WAKE UP! Look at the ball!!!

Why are
all the Hornet players looking away from the basket, except for Mashburn??? And for a player like LBJ to get, with no weakside defensive help from the other Hornets?

also the players aren't looking at the ball while LJ is driving, they shouldn't turn all the way but should be positioned differently to see the ball and the man.Lebron isn't too high, his head is at the rim sometimes when he goes up for dunks

Hey look

Is it just me, or do the Cavs' away jerseys look purple-ish? It's weird, 'cause the home pics show the red color more accuratley. As I recall from when the Cavs unveiled their new colors, their description was "a new expression of wine and gold." The away jerseys in these pics looks more like a new expression of grape juice and gold.

hmm... maybe red wine

While that kind of lighting does add a more cartoony look to the game...it IS a nice change imo. However, other than this..im not impressed with this year's graphics. They are looking to make the players too skinny...and the court is still too small. Still the same paper crowds who are far away from the court line.
I dont mind that the players are somewhat skinny.....I think in last years game some of the players were a lil too Muscular or Wide.
I completely agree with ya about the court looking too small in last years game. I thought I was the only one that noticed that. I know they're probably making the court on scale with an actual NBA specs but the player models always seemed a lil too big to me on the court. I dunno maybe it had something to do with the bad spacing of players on the court.
I think it may have a lot to do with the camera angles. I for one hope like all hell that they give us more customization with camera angles. Like allowing us to raise or lower the elevation of the camera instead of just the zoom. With the cameras were using now I always thought it made the players look like they were jumping too high.
With the current player models I think the court looks like its at least 4 feet too narrow and the looking at how high the players jump the goal looks at least a foot too short.

i never understood how someone can be a fan of more than 1 team and keep changing teams. maybe its just me but i think people should have 1 team and the rest they just enjoy watching. for instance i am a celtics fan and i am not gonna jump ship just cause someone leaves town. thats not to say i dont enjoy watching other teams, cause i do, its just the celtics are my team and imo you can only have 1.
oh and i hate the lakers with a passion, just about as much as i hate the yankees.
they are called bandwagon fans my friend. they are not like us loyal fans who stick to OUR TEAM! ive been a rocket fan ever since i knew how to dribble a ball. TRUE FANS stick to their teams through the highs and the lows! no matter what! i despise bandwagon fans.
anyways, on to the real issue, i hope they would fix the animation when your doing alley-oops.. they should make the player look at the ball, focus on it, follow it and slam it home not like on 2003 and 2004 where they just jump and the ball just magically get "magnetized" to their hands. they even do alley-oops even if the passer is on their backs. you know what im saying right guys? they should really fix that coz it ruins the excitement of doing an alley-oop.
Sat Jul 03, 2004 6:01 am
i think u guys should try NBA Ballers.
although it's a 1on1 streetball game, but it still has the best cyberface, graphic and animation i've ever seen in a basketball game!

My bad, didn't see that.

Good job spotting it too.

I hope they will update these boring sounds from the arena announcer.
They should include sounds like the "Chauncey B-B-Billups" or the "Big-Ben-Sound" and other special sounds.
Furthermore, i hate lookin at all those EA-Sports logos. These things really suck!
Sun Jul 04, 2004 1:13 am
if they arent renderings they still look cartoonish imo but the detail is still lookin better

im going with you with that! they should put that! that'll be a great addition to the game! like for example, when yao makes a good play, the rockets play that "yao ming song".. "YAO MING... YAO MING YAO MING YAO MING... YAOOO MINGGG.. YAOOO MINNNGGG..."

I hear what you're saying but many people aren't like that. Before I had a team up here (TO), I followed the Lakers and the Bulls (and still do). Then the Raptors came along and I started (and still) follow them. They're my core teams. After that, follow my favorite players, wherever they go. That's not bandwagon fandom, that's following a favorite player. I've kept an eye on Houston through the Hakeem era, then took my eye away beause Steve Francis sucks, then returned it when Yao arrived and now more seriously since T-Mac has gone there.

i really dont think many of you know what bandwagon means, people were acussing me of jumping the bandwagon, beacause i dont like the Titans, and started like the Redskins? The Redskins suck ass, they havent been to the playoffs in like 10 years, and ya'll think thats bandwagon jumping. Wow.
