FICTIONAL CYBERFACES!

I'm having a simple problem selecting/highlighting specific areas to edit in blender. I've watched tutorials but I rather have a text tutorial on it ill search for more but if anyone would be kind enough to still give me a few quick pointers that would help

Paying for mods is against our rules; if someone has a virtual "tip jar" then by all means contribute, otherwise it's not on. However, hopefully someone with some spare time will be able to lend you a hand.
