Calderon signs 3 year extension with Raptors
Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo today announced that veteran guard Jose Calderon signed a contract extension with the Raptors.
The deal is for another three years, totalling nearly $16m. The 31 year old Spaniard is currently averaging 7 points and 4 assists off the bench.
Calderon happily took a 50% pay cut per season to remain in Toronto. He has fulfilled his reserve role behind Kyle Lowry this season nicely.
It had been rumoured that he would get traded this season, with many teams interested, but he has committed his future to the Raptors.

Wizards sign two veterans, release Livingston & Dunleavy
Washington made some more roster changes today, signing up veterans Michael Redd and Kenyon Martin both for the rest of the season.
Recently acquired forward Mike Dunleavy and reserve point guard Shaun Livingston were both waived. They hadn't been seeing many minutes.
Redd and Martin will cost the Wizards less than $5m in wages combined. GM Steve Kerr hopes that they can add some scoring to the team.
"Michael averages 19 points per game for his career. We're hoping he can continue that here and take some pressure off of John [Wall]."
"As for Kenyon, well he can be a great mentor for Kevin [Seraphin] and Patrick [Patterson]. He can help them improve their inside work."
The Wizards are in near full rebuild mode at the moment having traded away Nene and Emeka Okafor. They've gone 0-5 to start the season.
Next they head to Charlotte to take on the Bobcats who also have a 0-5 record. Despite their poor form the Wizards will think they can win.

Jefferson signs 4 year extension with Jazz
Utah announced today that star big man Al Jefferson had committed his future to the franchise by signing a four year contract extension.
The extension will earn him nearly $53m over the four years. It's an interesting move considering they've got Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter.
Some people had suggested that Jefferson and his $15m expiring contract would have been traded at the deadline for a quality point guard.
Jazz management however decided to secure him long-term after not yet reaching an agreement to re-sign his frontcourt partner Paul Millsap.
It's not certain what this news means for the future of Millsap. He may yet re-sign, but could decide to test the waters of free agency as well.

Rumour: Wizards are exploring a trade with Jazz for Favors
According to multiple sources around the league, the Wizards have recently contacted the Jazz about a possible trade for Derrick Favors.
The 21 year old is currently stuck behind Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap in the Utah rotation and Washington feel he could be open to a move.
Washington have plenty of trade assets to offer, including three first round picks in 2013. It's unlikely that they will trade their own pick though.
After starting the season with 8 straight losses, it's looking likely that they could have a great chance of getting top pick in the draft lottery.
Utah apparently want the Wizards 2013 or 2014 picks, but general manager Steve Kerr is very hesitant to trade what could be high lottery picks.
The Jazz do like the idea of drafting a prospect like Nerlens Noel or Shabazz Muhammad in 2013 or Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker in 2014.
Al Jefferson recently signed a four year extension and Paul Millsap is supposedly ready to follow. Favors could be looking for a starting role.
If he were to move to Washington, he would switch from his sixth man role to that of star player alongside John Wall and rookie Bradley Beal.
It's all just speculation at this point though. If Millsap hasn't re-signed by the trade deadline, he may well be traded for a quality point guard.
Which of course would mean that Favors is very much required by the Jazz. This could drag out until deadline day depending on what happens.
