That last picture with VC and Shaq looks great (almost photo-realistic) :o
And about the small complaints that you guys had ( like Lebrons'a elevation and the players not looking at the ball), EA still is no where close to the final product.

I'm guessing it will be the ability to play parts of a game and simulate the rest, or something similar.

I don't know if its me but, don't the pics look weird? I mean, especially the ones w/ Lebron and Gary dribbling downcourt, they have this shiny feel all over them like they have a plastic coating or they were waxed all over or something... :? To be honest looking at Gary right now that pic looks like a cardboard cutout of him dribbling... lol... :(

agree.

to be honest, i still think that all the released screenshots are CG graphics only, not the in-game screenshots.

Those screens are ingame. If you've played games like prince of persia...soft glow lighting is used in alot of games nowadays. Def jam vendetta 2 is gonna use the same type of lighting.

prince of persia: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/princ ... index.html

def jam: fight for ny: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/def ... index.html

While that kind of lighting does add a more cartoony look to the game...it IS a nice change imo. However, other than this..im not impressed with this year's graphics. They are looking to make the players too skinny...and the court is still too small. Still the same paper crowds who are far away from the court line.

I'm not too excited about the creation zone either...as creating custom players and teams was never a problem for me. With patching..we dont have to settle for look-a-likes...we can use real pics.

The only thing i wish they'd do in this area is record an extra list of "possible" names we could use. For instance..if you created a player named "james brown"...marv should say his name..even though he's not a default player.

names

Postby Checco on Wed Jun 30, 2004 5:47 pm

I defenetly agree, i don't see why they didn't before! The most part of all the rookies that the cpu creates have the same names... or at least they could give you the chance to give them a nickname as in the Create Players mode

Considering that the graphics improved between Live 03 & 04, AND the game ran better in 04, one can only hope that the same improvement will be made in 05... worst case scenario for lesser end pc's I'd guess would be lower res and lower graphics details. I'm definitely betting it will still be playable.

OH, and the pictures look sweet to me.

I still don't see much to get me that excited. They're not pushing dynasty mode that much so some of the new features are most likely thin gimmicks or won't make that much difference.

Unless they have a major surprise in store I don't see Live 2005 being that great.

The crowd animation is looking better. You can no longer actually count how many people are sitting in the stands. I hope they add more chants and stuff.

I think that the graphics look like NBA Shootout 2004(minus shootouts horrible faces and scaling.)

well, the game sounds pretty good...now my only interest it's if we will have in Spain the voice of our two official commentators, because it's a shame that the good job made in translating the game, ends when you hear the commentators (excuse me for my english please :D )

hillwoodballa24 wrote:no, actually i hate the grizz, i hate jason williams and i hate pau gasol

I can't understand how you can hate the grizzlies, and gasol. I understand hating Hubie Brown and his 10-player rotation, or J-Will...but Gasol, i don't know many players that be as humble as he, and seems that in a few years will be one of the dominant players of the league.

Besides now we are of congratulations in my country, since to Gasol and to Raul Lopez has been united them Albert Miralles in the Miami Heat

I don't know about you guys, but I think the pics are nice... a lot better than previous years. I thought in the PS2 Live 2004, faces looked too cartoon-like, with huge eyes.

and to Alcoholic--That's a funny sig you got there...

"I am a Bulls and Bobcat fan now. I used to love the magic, but McGrady got traded, and since that happened, i wasted 100, on magic jerseys. Ben Gordon will be the best player in the NBA and he is my fav, Bobcats will be a great upcoming team in the future."

i never understood how someone can be a fan of more than 1 team and keep changing teams. maybe its just me but i think people should have 1 team and the rest they just enjoy watching. for instance i am a celtics fan and i am not gonna jump ship just cause someone leaves town. thats not to say i dont enjoy watching other teams, cause i do, its just the celtics are my team and imo you can only have 1.

oh and i hate the lakers with a passion, just about as much as i hate the yankees.
