Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Assuming you are running a wide screen monitor and resolution.
Personally, I am a windowed man. I can't stand the dead space on YouTube and other sites, or the one long line of text for a post here.

What do you mean by "full screen"? Maximized window, or the window taking up the entire screen by pressing F11?
Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:35 am
isn't that the same thing? I know there is a "full screen" mode that no one in their right mind uses, but yes, a window that takes up the entire screen without removing the taskbar or other "window" buttons.
Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:37 am
Oh, in that case I'm a full screen person.

My screen is 27" so full screen is just too big; windowed for me. Albeit big sized windows.

My maximized window is essentially full-screen. I've got the taskbar hidden, and a one row of toolbars, with anything else I need in
Rainmeter skin form. It's about as close to being full-screen as you can get without actually being in full-screen.
Here's what my layout looks like, if anyone's interested.

Maximized when not doing anything else (only using Full Screen/F11 when on my netbook, where every inch of vertical space is precious), windowed when using it in combination with other programs. Having 2 monitors lets you not worry that much about screen space occupied when not doing many things at once.
By the way, try this:

Maximized is how real men do it.
Real men know how to use the taskbar or alt-tabbing.

Maximised window, taskbar displayed.

you guys are crazy

Maximized for me too, but I'm only on a 23" screen.
Mon Dec 03, 2012 4:34 am
Always maximized, since my laptop had a 15.6" screen and my phone like 4"
Mon Dec 03, 2012 5:06 am
If I had a 20-something inch screen, I probably wouldn't maximize everything, but I like using every inch of my 15.6" screen.
Mon Dec 03, 2012 6:05 am
for clarity I am on a 24" screen, but even on my 15" laptop I still tend to window down to a 4:3 aspect ratio
Mon Dec 03, 2012 6:32 am
maximized. i hate scrolling, especially from side to side
Mon Dec 03, 2012 7:19 am
I never scroll side to side though
Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:32 am
I'd have to say maximised, while using Alt+tab to navigate through my other windows. I've pretty much hated windowed browsing after a college instructor insisted upon it (to a point where he lost his teaching focus if someone had a maximised window).

This. Can't stand it.

How does that work? Why would a professor lose his shit over someone who's window is maximized?

Well I guess when one spends their entire life not having the window maximized (I hope that's the case here), that will happen.

He had a "my way or no way" attitude. It was a HTML coding class, so I think his reasoning was if you had one section of the screen dedicated to code and one to the rendered version, you'd work more efficiently.
He was probably right, but I still thought he was a prick

I always have one side to the code, and the other side to the window when it comes to HTML. Just a bit easier to work with.

Yeah, that makes more sense. I didn't do it that way, as I'm really used to alt-tab, but I can see how it's really useful.
The Java I've been doing for 3 semesters now really makes me miss HTML.

My professor has that same "my way or the highway" attitude as well. Hate that dude with a passion.
Mon Dec 03, 2012 7:32 pm
full screen for me though i voted on the wrong option.. lol
