explain me, please, how to block 3Pts shooters... pleeeease....
there MUST be a trick. sure. otherwise, waiting in front of derek fisher with tim thomas AND then jumping right at the good time neither blocks the shot or even bother damn fisher. it's swooooch all the time.

i dunno. i'm lost. et putain de furax aussi. ca m'broute.

(dont tell me to put the user blocking ability to 100, it's done. ........)
(oh, using NLSC ratings (pretty low on shot blocking)

For some reason you can't block 3 pointers effectively. As soon as the shooter jumps, delay until he is about 1/4 up in the air, then jump to contest his shot.

You ussually can't block a 3 if your man doesn't block in the first place.
Here's some tips in 3 blocking (Spurs for example against Lakers)

If your playing the CPU. You'll know who's hot and who's not form the arc. Say if parker is guarding fisher. Manually switch your guys around, have Fisher open and alone. Have Duncan near the arc(not up on Fisher, you want him to shoot) As soon as Fisher gets to the line, hit turbo, take 2 steps and go up for the block.

I get alot of 3 blocks specially using the Spurs cause i rove Duncan around while Nas is down low for any penetraters with funny ideas.

You'll only want to go for the block if your man has a block icon or a high block rating. Anything else, thorwing up your hands with the right analog is just like jumping in your mans face, it contests the shot but to what extent?

I found that if you leave the right guys open, you could block them every time, cause the CPU will take an open shot, or so it thought it was an open shot. Also works with drivers. Say Mercer is driving cause you just backed up Wallace, come up behind him and block.

Don't aloways play tight D, watch some NBA T.V. The low percentage shooter is always given some space. Pressure the shooters and force the non-shooters to throw up low percentage or "blockable shots(cause of the slow release)"

Try it and lemme know if it worked =)

Needless to say, having a taller guard generally results in more blocks on the perimeter. Don't jump to block the shot until your opponent is near the top of his leap, otherwise you'll start falling before he releases the ball.

Yeah I agree that it's hard to block shots. But when those sharpshooters get the ball, I make sure that they don't have enough space to shoot. I try to anticipate when the ball gets in their hands ahead of time. So by the time the player catches the ball, I'm already in his face. And when he tries to shoot, he rarely makes it. But they tend to make them in the clutch. Just the other day in my dynasty, the game was tied and they pass the ball to Darrel Armstrong (I'm right in his face) and he knocks it down (SWISSSSHHHHH!!!). But i didn't need to worry since I had Ray Allen in my team and he sent the game into overtime at the buzzer.

I find generally you can block the shot but need to wait until he's almost released it before jumping. I tend to 'fake out' the CPU by moving my player back a little from the shooter. Once the shooter gets the ball and starts to go into the shot movement, I run towards him and press the block button. This either results in a block or the shot seems to miss more often than not.

Actually, a dissapointing thing I've just thought of is that the CPU never seems to fake any shots. Has anyone else noticed that?

I always block 3PT shooters with K.Van Horn (SF) , L.James (i set on PG)
,and when i wanna block Shooting Guard i play with J.Bender .

thiiiiis is the point : when to jump ??.. i'd have to START jumping when he's getting on top, on a 1/4 of the jump or at the same time ?!?....... different opinions it seems.. let's vote !..
(i tried any of them, not sure it affects blocking ability.. )

i also noticed (during replays) that my defender jumps BESIDES the shooter, meaning his hand is at the right height but usually a (big) bit too much on his right.. so i try to "shift" the def position a bit... still not efficient enough.. your opinion ?
