Playing time in My Career

hi. i made a MP, and started his career (6ft scoring PG)... got drafted, played a season, all-star game, champion MVP etc...

then, my 2nd season came out, and my team hired Gilbert Arenas (his ovrl was lower than mine, and i was already a starter), and, after 12 games (he was playing SG, i was the PG), i was sent to the bench, and my 36 minutes became 20. my avrgs were the best of the team (28 pts, 7 assists, 3 rebs and 3 steals), and i became a sixth man suddently. then, they traded Arenas, and i was back to the starting line-up. my team reached the NBA finals again, then, i was sitting on bench again, and with only 16 min. and the new starting PG wasnt even a PG (it was Schumpert, who is a SG. Ariza, who was on the bench, became the starting SG).

is it a bug? can i fix it? how?

can you guys help me?

It does sound like an issue with the roster management logic in MyCAREER. The only people that can fix that are 2K Sports via a patch, it remains to be seen if and when that will happen.

If you're playing on PC, you could try using one of the Trainers to edit your MyCAREER save and change the lineup along with your playing time. I don't use those tools so I can't give you more info than that, but if you search the Forum you'll find more details on how to do that stuff. Be forewarned though, those tools can mess up your game, so use them at your own risk.

In-game, you could try meeting with the GM and saying you are unhappy with your current role. If your performance and overall rating warrants starter minutes and a star role, that might fix it up, however you may possibly take a hit in popularity/team chemistry.
