Would you recommend to play NBA games on gamepad, not keyboard? Is it easier to control the game?

360 controller for the PC is PERFECT. The icons in game synchronize nicely to that of the 360 version when the controller is plugged in and you will have no confusions of what to press for what. Definitely a Wired 360 controller recommended.

I remember the day I finally moved from the keyboard to the 360 controller, and there was a whole new side of 2k11 that I never knew it existed hahaha gameplay-wise

Any recent model dual stick pad should work fine but the majority of current pc games are designed with 360 controllers in mind (down to the use of 360 button icons). Personally I use a ps3 controller for any pc sports game with motionjoy emulator to treat it like a 360 controller. I used to use a 360 controller with a usb wireless receiver but just don't like the controller shape as much.

Yes this is the controller. However, it is wireless.
I wouldn't suggest wireless because you have to recharge the batteries constantly. This is a hassle. Especially if you are in a middle of a game online and suddenly the battery runs out and screws you.

I recommend you get the one that's wired. Xbox 360 Controller is always best for PC. Never use keyboard for sports games ever again!
Plus NBA 2K utilize full 360 degree movement just like FIFA and various other sports games. With keyboard you can only move in 4/8 way directions. That's why a gamepad is always recommended.

Especially now with the right stick used for dribbling and skill moves. It would be difficult to achieve the same moves with a keyboard. You will definitely become a better player once you switch and adapt to a gamepad controller!

On Amazon the wired 360 controller is for around $30. So if u can get that, do so.

Yeah you should. It will make your life much easier. I've quit playing with keyboard since FIFA 06. And since then all of my sports games I've been playing with gamepad.

I use slightly tweaked control settings. For me on the Xbox 360 Controller I use RB for sprinting instead of RT and LT for Icon Passing. Everything else remains the same for me. Basically I use similar button configurations to PES and FIFA that way it's easier for me to adapt to all of the button controls. Like for example in the 360 Controller A for passing, X for shooting, RB for Sprinting, etc just like I would normally set the same for FIFA and PES.

Of-course the rest comes down to your own personal preference. But a gamepad is a must though for sports games!
I've heard a lot of PC Gamers in the FIFA PC Forums saying why they should use a gamepad when they are PC Gamers and that they must use a Keyboard. But this is just a false logic. For sports games a gamepad is absolutely essential. Just like for First Person Shooters Keyboard and Mouse is the way to go.

if you have PS2 (dual shock) controllers you can use it for your PC. Just look and buy for a gamepad adapter like this:

Just to note, if you want a 360 controller for PC you do NOT need to buy the one that's labeled "For Windows" as the normal wired one for the console works fine. (You can sometimes find one or the other for slightly cheaper.) They are the exact same controller, the only difference is the packaging and the "For Windows" I believe still comes with a CD with drivers. (Windows will find these automatically or you can get them off the website so it's not worth any extra cost to get the CD.)

I would absolutely recommend investing in a gamepad or utilising a 360/PS3 controller if you have one handy. Basketball games have been designed with a dual analog controller in mind for about a decade now; the keyboard is a feasible or even preferable option for some genres on PC, but that definitely doesn't include basketball games.
