I've watched it twice already and I feel like there are a few pacing problems. Overall the premise and story were good from start to finish. A lot of people complain about plot holes but for the most part the story is fairly cohesive considering how many things they packed into the plot. Entertaining and epic in scale, but I'd consider placing Batman Begins ahead of this one.

The pacing and plot holes and "packed" plot are all of the same. The Dark Knight collapses when Two-Face is introduced as a new villain, derailing the careful management of not only The Joker BUT also Dent's plot. TDKR similarly derails when Bane takes control and Bruce is sent off to employ Wolverine's healing factor. The inactivity of the two main plot-drivers leaving it to Robin and Gordon to stand around in alleys for half an hour.

Yeah the Dark Knight was also not exactly a perfect movie, but what I think makes it better is that the themes (and of course the villain) in that movie make it more enjoyable from start to finish. I also was not a fan of the broken back prison scenes either. Kind of made the movie disjointed and the way he "overcame" that problem was a little cheesy in my opinion.
